    http://www.nvision2008.com/Enthusiasts/geforce-lan-worldrecord.cfm

In case you're too lazy to click it, nVidia is going to attempt a world record by holding the longest non stop LAN party with at most 228 people. It runs for 36 hours and you only get a 10 minute break per 60 minutes of play.

I'll be attending ;) I was wondering if any NBR users were coincidentally going too? Probably not because the field is so small

Also, can anyone recommend any multiplayer games that have a very long replay value? I'll be playing counter strike 1.6 and WoW but 36 hours is a long time to be gaming nonstop. I think I'll need something other than those two games to play :)

    Team Fortress 2 :)
Command and Conquer Generals (still my fave) get the zero hour and add the shockwave mod for oooh and aaaah :)

    Race Driver GRID, great game!

I too would be irresponsible enough to take part in such a thing

is it anything like the 48hour Amiga Copy parties of the early 90's ? :)

no sleep and local brewed scrumpy in Bridgewater (UK) ahhh fond memories

i wouldn't be surprised if someone dies at that thing, and nvidia ends up liable.

i think its really really weird that a company would sponsor something like that.

Hmm, longest I've gone is a 26 hour. We didn't go on 10 min breaks per hours, more like 20 min breaks every few hours to get some air and food. You might want to bring something to chew on, in case you get hungry. I assume refreshments/ food are provided? Rest your eyes if you can. It will probably hurt.

    Good luck.

Since I'm unemployed and its summer that sounds amazing. Nothing fun like that ever happens in downstate Illinois.

I guarantee that I could play TF2 for 36 hours and still have fun. I got on last night for a quick game or two and ended up playing Gold Rush for 6 hours as Spy. I never play spy either.

I seriously would just play AoC for the most part. Do you know how much you could level up with 36 hours of play?

I would do it, I really would. The Platinum Concierge service sounds awesome, free food and drink brought to your table. It really does sound like Southpark.

All I need to do is take a few days off my volunteer job. I'm scared though. I'm Asian and I don't want to die like all the others...

Psshhh, I do 48 hours marathons all the time. Amateurs! LOL

But does sound like fun, wish I could go but thats on the other coast. Though if I assemble my own party maybe I can beat NVIDIA :)

50+ hours when diablo 2 came out was fairly routine back in high school.

Well, I work a 2-man crew on a tractor trailer.. We get 21 hours on, 9 hours off.. then get up and do it again. 36 hours is nothing, as long as you have enough coffee.

I don't know if I can do this... I might have to pull a Cartman and do my business in my seat because you're only allowed to go to the toilet on your break and if I have to take a break half way or more into an hour I'm going to be mad pissed that I have to restart the clock.

I think the best I've done is like 14 hours of COD4 with **** breaks. Ngghhhh. Glory.
