Why does Nvidia not keep up to date Notebook drivers? They made a whole song and dance about releasing Notebook drivers themselves rather than OEM's a few months back. And it seems to of lasted about a month before they just DON'T release any anymore.

Desktop versions are currently :191.07 WHQL: October Release:
OGL 3.2, CUDA 2.3 and DirectX11 Compute Compatibilty

Notebook versions are currently:186.81 WHQL: August Release:
OGL 3.0, CUDA 2.2 and NO DirectX11 Compute Compatibility.

As a developer using many Nvidia tools like CUDA 2.3, OGL3.2, DirectX10/11 on my Notebook with 9650GT, it's getting very hard to do anything with it, when i cannot compile with CUDA 2.3 or OGL3.2.

I'm currently using a modified desktop driver which is badly overheating, but it's the only way to use the features, that Nvidia should of already updated for Notebook/Mobile users.

    I WANT UPDATED DRIVERS!

I feel for you, but it still isn't that bad. I waited a year for 64-bit drivers and six months for Windows 7 drivers on my Lenovo, and they still never delivered. ATI video drivers are from September 2008 still. So having nVidia release them over OEM isn't so bad.

Why is it badly overheating? Do you have Powermiser enabled? I get the same temps with my OEM and desktop drivers.. (9600M GT)

NVidia is doing a better job than they have in the past.

If you always develop for the latest and greatest tech you will inevitably run in to issues with incompatibilities.

If you want CUDA V2.3 on your notebook, try these 190.38 beta drivers from nVidia.

I've been using them for a week with SETI@home running practically continuously with no problems.

But they are releasing them on a steady basis. They release a new WHQL notebook driver at the beginning of each new fiscal quarter. That's steady, though probably not steady enough. It still beats ATi's notebook driver support, no?

They said from the very beginning that they will update the notebook drivers every 3 months. The next ones should come out in November.

The official Nvidia Driver directly from Nvidia Website were always not very good for me. It is considered standard but not maximal.
Random Nvidia Driver(18X.XX) update from LaptopVideo2Go were much more better. They're official as well and WHQL too.
