They've started to nerf Pascal GPUs performance
-
Nothing that amazes me.. its like a way of marketing strategy to force users to buy new hardware, even if the old hardware was still capable of running the games

Old news. Everyone knows that the performance for old GPUs went down with new 400-series of drivers, this never changed.

This seems suspect to me. For one, the right side consistently uses more VRAM than the left side, sometimes as much as 200MB more. I’m not so sure the right side wasn’t using higher settings, hence the lower performance.
Reminds me of when Joker Productions was caught manipulating benchmarks to show AMD GPUs in a more favorable light by using higher settings on the Nvidia GPUs that were being compared. One of the things that gave it away was the disparity in VRAM usage, especially considering that AMD cards tend to use more VRAM than Nvidia cards at the same settings as their memory compression is worse. Those with a keen eye also noticed the subtle difference in the graphical effects being shown on-screen.
I’m not saying this is a repeat of that episode, but don’t underestimate the lengths to which people will go to push a sensationalist or false narrative, especially on a platform as clickbait and ad driven as YouTube.Papusan, saturnotaku, KING19 and 4 others like this. -
Heres another one but with the 1060GTX

So is this bug worked out with 431.60?
If not, what are the optimal drivers at this point for pascal? In particular for a GP104 die. -
Team red all the way haha.
Intel/nvidia need a kick up the arse imo.joluke likes this. -

All claims of driver nerfing old GPUs have been refuted in the past, so I wouldn't be so quick to jump on this as if it is fact. Maxwell was never degraded in performance after Pascal came out and this was proven.
400 series drivers just suck (hit or miss) and that's why I still haven't used any of them. I figure if I'm not on RTX it's not worth the hassle. -
I'm sure AMD might have done similar stuff

sli is not what it used to be.

Nvidia is a dishonest anti-consumer company. Not surprised.

Could just be optimizations gone wrong. Even so, I'd prefer there were a real market threat to encourage good behavior.
Nvidia back to their old tricks
