So I have an acer aspire 5252 and it's good for nothing, not even web browsing in windows 7. I was just accepted into the beta for geforce now and had zero expectations, as Ive tried other streaming services before, such as onlive and vortex. Both of which suck the proverbial tit. so I booted up geforce now on my 1366x768 resolution rocking older laptop. looked blurry, rats no dice on this one either, however I persisted to load up ghost recon wildlands, and OMG you guys have to see it to believe it, I changed all the setings to maximum and was rocking a solid 60-100 fps. butter smooth, no hiccups, zero lag, akin to a console experience as far as interuptions go. visually stunning, If someone told me geforce now games look as good as the actual game being rendered on a computer I would laugh, but this time yes I was laughing and yelling at my computer because holy smokes does it look good, nothing like anything I have ever seen before. So whats powering these games, I downloaded 3dmark firestrike to their super computers to see, well I got a graphics score of 21000 roughly, so something in between a 1080 and 1070 gtx.
Long and short of this, I can use nvidias ultra powerful computers like its being natively run on any laptop with internet with console like expereince but on ultra and sometimes 120fps. oh and if you have a 4k screen yes this service supports 4k. I think 4k-1080p would look indistiguishable from the real thing and now ladies and gents. I have already sold my gaming laptop(for real) and will be buying a 599.99 \cad ultrabook by asus I think its the zenbook ux303ca or something, its 14in and has a 7th gen y processor. not the fastest but good enough for 1080p. I plan on running benchmarks and benching the crap outta games on nvidias gpus and see if i can get fraps to show on their systems so that it will be identical to having a 1070ti inside a 0.4 in laptop with 10 hours battery life. yes that laptop will be able to game via nvidia geforce now for 10-11 hours and 75 percent brightness...
ultrabook gaming will never be the same. Please post questions below and I will gladly assist you. If there is something you want me to test out with this beta I will gladly and also I hope im not breaking any NDA. please let me know what I can and can;t share with you as i'm a rookie to nda.
also I forgot to mention this is the PC version not the shield one.
-
For me the concept for it is really fascinating, especially for anyone using a crap PC/laptop.
But three things stood out for me:
1.You have to buy the game if you want to play it.Why not add a bit more money and gave us total access to all the games?Save storage and time.
2.You must have a solid internet connection or else,it will be a turmoil-And without one, just forget about gaming.(This seems self-explanatory lol).
3.If the servers ever go down, you can't play anything. -
I just signed up, didn't see anything on that page.
I would imagine you would see this in the terms when installing/using it if you were under NDA or were not supposed to talk about it. An NDA is a legally binding document, usually has to be signed.MahmoudDewy likes this. -
I guess theres no NDA then because I signed nothing.
I will go full out explaining what it does and how it works....
Just think you have a ultrabook and a gtx 1080 laptop...
Your at a hotel and brought your thin and light. but you want to play a no comprimise version of ghost recon from your library. so you boot up geforce now....walla perfectly playable 60fps no stutters. visually sharp.
So i'll add its a tesla p40 gpu they are using and it scores about 11000 on firestrike extreme so that puts it actually ahead of a gtx 1080. xeon 8 core processor is also used, very very very fast setup.
edit.
how is that a downside to buy a game? don't you normally buy your games
smells pirate.
hfm it took me 2 months to get the key -
I've used it on my Macbook Pro. It works okay but needs work. You need a really reliable internet connection (ethernet, 20mbps download IMO) to play at high settings.
Otherwise you'll want to turn down the settings. It lets you log into steam, battle.net etc. I think in 1-2 years it'll be a good choice. -
How does increasing settings bring more lag.
It's streaming. That's like saying Netflix lags when I increase the volume of my TV. And saying it's an option in 2 years? Baffled. . It supports 4k...oic your waiting for 8k. -
I have been accepted to the Beta but haven’t tried it yet but you got my attention.
Is there any artifacts or lag when gaming, I tried the shield version and it wasn’t the best experience. -
There’s a difference between stable and fast. I tested it a few months ago maybe it’s better now. -
oh its alot better this is coming from a shield tablet owner.
i have a acer 5252 im testing it on and this laptop stuggles with 720p youtube videos. 1366 x 768 gaming with bit rate at 15 and 60fps doesnt look as sharp but it's buttery smooth
there are no artifacts and zero lag or input lag
if there was i would not be able to play project cars 2 with arrow keys and win.....spoiler....i won and it was a perfect gaming experience.
i think the people online that are knocking it have not tried it. -
Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
Played Overwatch over GeForce Now on my laptop, wasn't good enough - so I ended up selling my (beta) account. \=
Update: just checked my e-mail, they sent me another activation code for beta. Not sure whether to sell it, or give GeForce Now another try. \=Last edited: Oct 15, 2018 -
so an update.
it's video technically, so i adjusted my catalyst video settings for shapness and de noising....OMG GUYS ITS SHARP AS F and looks incredible. it looks sharper than a natively run game I kid you not.
so the trick is to edit your video output settings with geforce now and enjoy that titanx they are offering for your 50 dollar laptop collecting dust.very happy camper
starlight prove it to us!
I don't believe you were disappointed I believe you have not tried it, because I'm a fussy and very picky gamer and it blows me away. show screen shots then I will do a image search to make sure you didn't grab them from somewhere else.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 18, 2018 -
Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
-
there is basically no lag this isn't onlive or vortex.
I have tried ghost recon and project cars 2. if there was lag project cars 2 would be impossible to play.
oh and starlight how do you sell your beta code when its completely linked to your emailLast edited by a moderator: Oct 18, 2018 -
Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
@JRE84 I didn't link the latest Beta invitation to new account yet. But for previous one, that I used for some time, I simply sent buyer login e-mail & password after getting paid, and he/she changed those immediately.
-
I swear on my life I played project cars 2 with the arrow keys and came in first place.....that should say something about lag as that game is nearly impossible to play with even a controller.
-
i want to prove this.....can you show me how to record the game....I want to record myself coming in first place in project cars 2 using the keyboard...can't seem to figure out how to record..please help bro...
edit ill show specs of my computer also. its a single core sempron lols

this is an example of how good it looks on a 1366x768 laptop shows me in 4th place and well i eventually came in last as i bumped up the difficulty. amazing racing game.. but yeah try to tell me this doesn't look sharper than a ingame native game.
austin agrees with me on input lag..

lol i did that with paint....its blocking my username
edit.... i dont work for nvidia obviously but i will promote geforce now....its that good...well perfect for streaming....basically as good as streaming gets -
Looks good. Hopefully I'll be allotted a beta code so I can try it out.
-
I got in the beta a couple of months ago. The only game I've tried was Divinity: Original Sin 2 on my old Dell 7359 2in1. It was smooth and looked great with 300mb cable. I was impressed.
I just got a beta key to try Google's Project Stream with free Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Can't wait to give that a try.JRE84 likes this. -
I just watched that video jaug.
claims input lag of 100ms-70ms vs 25ms for native gaming.
all my gaming laptops with my wireless mouse got an average of 120ms and it was very playable.
solution use a hardwired mouse for geforce now...thanks for the video rep and well like I said before project cars 2 is playable with geforce now and that is one moster of a finnicky mess when you get lag.....i usually come in 1 st sometimes last but its playable and the input lag is negligible.
the only time i see 70ms being a problem is if your playing cs go and want to play for money......but that speaks to less than 0.0000000001 percent of the population
he claims the gaming expereince is poor on all services. claiming its like a youtube video.
I agree with only 1 or 2 points from that video.1 liquid sky is no good. and 2 input lag results. he doesn't mention adding video filters to improve visuals. for example I'm very picky and when I booted up geforce now it was slightly blurry the same as having a 1080p gaming machine running games at 1600x900 not terrible but annoying. then i bumped up sharpness and de noising and walla looks 99 percent like 1080p and retains the sharp look of gaming natively. not perfect but impressive nontheless. so if your reading this give it a go and check it out yourself. and remember that your playing a gtx 1080 level game like ghost recon on a 50 dollar computer.
points to mention to get this looking as good as I have
set refresh rate to 120hz
lower bandwidth setting
increase video sharpness a touch(not alot)
turn on de noising
use a hardwired mouse.
enjoy.
edit.
becuase I bought my computer for 60 cad it's awful. but im going to post pictures of various games to show you whats possible and let me know if you think its blurry or has compression artifacts. a side note im running at only 10mbps bandwidth, it goes all the way up to 50. 1/5th the image quality possible and it still looks native and impressive
https://imgur.com/a/i1HVpgK
proof it looks better than native
we all know I can talk all I want but proof is needed so here goes
https://imgur.com/a/5fYMZGh
so i came in first, im telling you guys this game would be impossible to play nevermind coming in first if input lag was an issue.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 18, 2018jaug1337 likes this. -
It is a great alternative, I am not here doubt that I just wanted to chime in with a little science.

your loss.
his version of geforce now was not the same as mine and whats available.
although he might be right about input lag saying its not viable to use is flat out wrong.
im on a 60 dollar computer playing project cars and having a good time, many people can benefit from this technology so crossing it off is not a wise descision.
IQ isn't related to experience, some of the most intelligent people whom are correct don't often times have the backing. take for instance chis langon his IQ is in the 200s and is a bar bouncer. So if your inclined to agree with people based on youtube experience fly at her. I personally am Inclined to trust intelligent people with high IQs.
side note.....why was this brought up....well....in short....I think his IQ is lacking...
edit. if you look at grammar which mine is poor remember grammarly will correct all grammar mistakes making a fool seem intelligent. I refuse to edit what i'm thinking and will not correct my grammar as I feel typing and spelling this way relates to more people than if i was overly complex. the intelligent person relates and the fool alienates. -
