It's interesting looking like a standard MXM-B form factor card.

Maybe the 980 designed for the GT80, renamed as a quadro card?

I guess for those with standard 980M SLI the card could be interesting if SLI is possible! Perhaps a standard MXM 3.0B 980 variant is on it's way. Highly binned and very expensive!

At 150W I can't see it going into a lot of systems (mainly cooling) and it's Quadro - the M5000M is over $1K from eBay and about $2K when in configuration, so make your math how much this one would cost. Also, if Pascal was right around the corner, like almost everyone is believing to be, why this? I think that Pascal has at least a good quarter before it starts taking steam.

BTW I said numerous times that the MXM slot can provide up to 190W, so this kinda prove my point. Of course there's always things like peak power and stuff for which the engineers have to think about (hence the 190W overbuilding), but still, 150W obviously is doable without extra connector (might have beefier power lines to the slot though, again overbuilding). The extra connector on the 980 is because it's overclocker GPU so it was meant to see in excess of 190W, as proved by @Mr. Fox

I was going to say "overpriced garbage" but Prema seems to have more eloquently beat me to it... xD

Status quo... I know your surprised look isn't on your face right now. It's not a coincidence they chose green as the company color.

As a gamer it's over priced, but for professional users who need quadro certification then it's different.

Mobile GPUs on the whole are overpriced by a huge margin, though. Lately that's been bothering me with all the bad drivers and bad card designs... we're paying more for less in everything that matters.

    And mobile Quadros... yeah.

Bringing a premium powerful mobile workstation is another world I guess.
Then again MSI WT72 6QN is making it relatively reasonable perhaps?
