    Hi

Firstly i dont know if this is hte right subforum so show mercy :D
    i ordered this , an Acer V3 771G (i5 , GT650m)
Acer Aspire V3-771G-53214G50Maii mit leistungsstarker NVidia GeForce GT650M bei notebooksbilliger.de
Because i live in greece a friend is sending this so ill have it in 1 week but id like to know from now what i will have to do by the time it is in my hands.
It comes without windows. it has linux.
So ill format it straight away and install windows 8.

SO i have a few questions

Does intel turbo boost need drivers?
Is nvidia optimus included in the latest nvidia drivers 30x.xx?
DO i need gpu drivers for the intel 4000 gpu?
How do i get the optimus working? I saw that acer v3 series support optimus.
I havent been away lately from the pc world so i have missed that stuff and what they need to get them working.

Anything else you might think is helpful, it will be!

    THanks!!

    1) You do not need a driver to get Turbo boost working
    2) Optimus support is included in all verde drivers above version 300 ( For Windows7/8 ).
    3) HD4000 will need a driver, can be obtained through Intel's site/Acer's support/Driver disc came with the Laptop.
    4) You can assign the preferred GPU for each application in NVIDIA panel just under Manage 3D settings > Program Settings . But remember that Optimus might not be Linux friendly.

This is what Linus Torvalds said to NVIDIA when answering a question related to Optimus on Linux:
