Few questions about overclocking the 3650 on an ASUS F8V series notebook.

    1. If I overclock this, back in the day badboy, how much of a performance increase would I be seeing?

    2. In terms of other video cards, what would it match (Nvidia 9600GT/ 220M, HD3670 etc)

    3. Has anyone successfully done this? If so what model notebook?

    4. Is it safe?

Thats pretty much it. All suggestions or recommendations are highly appreciated. Thanks!

well,I overclock every time i play games and i own a mobility hd 2600 gddr3.

    Tips:

Undervolt you cpu as low as it will let you go, that should lower temps a few degrees

Overclock your gpu and memory 25 percent :) no more no less

download HWmonitor via google search and play a game for 10 min without overclocking and check the max temps reached for cpu and gpu. Then try again with overclocking and undervolting cpu (rmclock)

If you temps are above 90c buy thermal compound at a computer store or buy a laptop cooler. both will drop temps 10c and maybe 15c combined.

If i was to play say crysis with my enthusiast config without overclocking id get a slideshow of 10-15 fps: however if i was to overclock mem and core speeds 25 percent id see 18-25 fps which is just barely playable but still :) fun.

If I was playing an older game like elderscrolls oblivion the framerates would climb from 35fps to 65fps, the rate it helps is proportional to the framerates you would normally get without an overclock bascically its a percentage increase.

With the hd 3650 depending if its gddr 3 or ddr2 you will be able to play every game out in dx9 high settings at 1024 x 600 in windowed mode(looks nicer)

PS. ill be making a thread to show people what they can expect for gaming with newer games when overclocking a mid range gpu with pictures.

And as of today their is no reason to upgrade to a 260m or 8800m ect because the only games that need that power is really just the crysis series, and the performance issues can be side stepped easily with my configs, same thing goes for gta 4.

Oh and I got 9500 vs 6000 3dmarks05 when overclocking which pushed my card up to standard and stable 9600m gt speeds and performance level.
So if you did the same you could expect something like say 12000 3dmarks05 and get around the 240m or the 8800m gts speeds :) try but just be safe with temps nd dont overclock much more than 30 percent.

I personally saw 158 percent increase in performance
