The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    OC only when needed?

    Is it OK to OC the vcard (as well as the CPU) only when needed (i.e. for a specifyc game that needs extra power), and then just keep it normal the rest of the time?

    i.e. Crisis needs OCing to be playable, but then other games are fine with regular clocking.

    Yes, it's better than OC it 24/7 (especially if you are doing a fairly high OC) and it's also that's what I do.
