Hey, I just got ATi Tool 0.25 and it says that my current X1400 speed is 432/391.5

How much should I oc it w/o the gfx card blowing up but still getting fast performance

just curious to see what it takes to run bf2 on hi settings

I would also like to know if i could just put it up a tad bit without very little risk or temp raise and get a tiny bit of performance.

It is often dangerous to overclock things in laptops. You see, the companies work really hard at designing a very effective cooling system for laptops. You might be able to get away with some slight overclocking if you force the fans to high and monitor temps to ensure it doesn't fry anything, but I still wouldn't reccomend it.

Highest I got my X1400 to was 553/441. Ran stable with a 3 degree celcius temperature increase. Any higher than that and it would artifact.

I did notice an improvement in my Oblivion fps, though in the end I decided to go back to stock speeds, it just wasn't enough to warrant it IMO.

I got 600/300 (600DDR) (from 400/250) from my x600 hehe, but I would not recommend keeping at that much more, give yourself an extra 10% and you should be ok, but overclocking is never sure, you might not even get that much more out the chip.

I would wait for ATI Tool 0.26 to come out before OC'ing any of the X1000 series cards with it.

True, beta 0.25 crashes the comp when I try to OC using it. Use Powerstrip 3.63 build 540 instead :D
