I don't have much experience with this program, so I thought I would ask you guys. Is this one of those programs that says it found errors when there really aren't any? Or is this a "take it to the bank" test?

well before I bios OCed I ran a 30 min error check test with it to make sure that the overclock is artifacts free because I am not really worrying about temps because my card never got past 75c ... dunno if a 30 min error test is enough though I just went on with it & so far never had any problems with my OC

It's pretty much a worse case scenario, but it's no guarantee you won't see issues crop up while gaming. With OCCT or FurMark you typically will catch stuttering or artifacts within five minutes of running the test, usually less. 30 minutes is good, but I'd run at least an hour.
Another thing to do is run something like prime95 in the background while running OCCT or Furmark to see if the combination of CPU and GPU cause issues. Usually I take clocks as far as I can without artifacting, then back off about 10% of the overclock amount. So if my GPU is 550MHz stock, then clocks to 650MHz (100MHz over), I'll set it at 640MHz. That little bit of clock won't affect game performance much but is enough buffer to ensure stability.
