Right now I have my 8600GT clocked at 575/500, using ATI Tool, and 169.04 driver. I got a 700 point increase in 3DMark06. I was just wondering if the temps the GPU is running at now are safe? Do browsing, and stuff, the temperature is around 45-49 Celsius. When gaming it reaches to mid 50's, will that have any effect on the GPU, or am I fine at that temperature?

That's a VERY good temp. Considering some people here struggle to keep their temps below 70. My desktop card is hitting high 60's under load, so IMO, 50's is good.

My 8600M GT hits 55 when playing COD4. After an hour it'll get up to 60. I wouldn't worry too much about a mid 50's temp.

Ok thanks. So I could clock it a little higher then, and still be on the safe side?

Possibly, sometimes it might make it go crazy... and then it would well, burn. just monitor those temps.

other thing is to turn your fan to max settings using the fan mod for dell(if you have dell laptops) it helps cool down your comp but it is noisy unless you are doing something "associated" with the sound

Are C90s's the only laptops with ****ty cooling for video cards? If I could run the fans at max I can get great temps but with no way to turn them up I'm pegging 80C ~ 90C Loads.
