I own a Dell m1530 with an 8600m GT and was wondering what are the advantages and or disadvantages from using the 2 different types of drivers? I know that Dell or probably any other manufacturer don't have drivers as recent as the Nvidia site, but are there any other differences? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I personally use Nvidia drivers for my Dell Vostro 1500 (8400m GS) and 1700 (8600m GT) especially since I use Windows 7. The latest drivers have fixed a long standing issue where I would get a message my video drivers stopped responding when watching Live Streaming TV.

I would prefer using OEM drivers but Dell no longer supports older hardware so I have no choice but to use drivers from Nvidia. I'm currently using drivers 267.76 and all is good.
