I did a quick google search and did not see a thread for Planetside 2 so I am making one. The game is in beta and comes out December this year. They are offering the Alpha Squad pack and membership for the game. They are actually really temping and can save you a lot of time with the perks. They also stack BTW. I was wondering if anyone else plans on getting it/playing. The game is free to play but membership and alpha squad pack offer some great perks. I think we should make an outfit and come up with a great name for us. NBR just doesn't sound cool :)

This is a pretty good game so far. It's still in beta so it has its issues and they're playing around with different gameplay settings to see what works best so if you get into beta, play it like a beta and not a real game. Theres a lot of work that still needs to be done, especially in optimizations as lot of people are having fps issues (especially those with AMD processors).

Seems like beta is starting to open up alot. One of my friends who just signed up for beta (aka is in the last "group" to get into the beta) just got in and all current beta testers got an extra beta key.

Also, thes devs are really great. They actually communicate alot with the players and LISTEN to what they want and then try to implement it into the game. Also, game is free to play and not going to be "pay to win". Most weapons and other things you can buy (with real money) are often sidegrades or aesthetics.

    Edit:
For those who don't know anything about the game, Planetside 2 is a MMOFPS where hundreds of people fight for territory on extremely large maps. There are three factions: Terran Republic, New Conglomerate, and Vanu Sovereignty. They all have the same "classes" and types of vehicles, but each faction differs in the actual weapon characteristics (rate of fire, damage, accuracy) and once you join a faction, you're there for good (unless you make a new character). The combat and customizations are pretty much the same as BF3 but on a much larger scale.

I would be eternally grateful to the person who would be kind enough to PM me a beta key.

i heard they balanced the teams more. I was TR in PS before the expansions and they blew. Their tank sucked and their MAXs and heavy weapons blew. I heard there are only 2 contents so you can't continent lock out which is stupid in my eyes. I thought PS was a tad dull but continent lock out was the small only thing that really made you feel like you accomplished something. This seems like there is going to be even less satisfaction and just endless killing. Can anyone tell me otherwise that there is somewhat of a goal that is marginally achievable?
