I'd suggest waiting. If you plan to play multiplayer, wait. It's totally broken right now. The singleplayer is decent, but after two major patches, there are still plenty of issues...

With Civ it's usually better to wait until the second expansion comes out. :p

Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of patience.

I just thought I'd check back in after I asked about running Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic on Windows 7 x64. I am happy to report that I have been able to run KOTOR fine on my ThinkPad x200. The game has crashed a few times after playing a movie cutscene, but it's been pretty smooth for the most part. The lack of widescreen support is a bit of a downer, but it was definitely worth the $2.50 spent during the Steam sales from Black Friday weekend. So if anyone has the same concerns I had about playing on Windows 7 64-bit, here's another vote of confidence.

Today I completed my 10 objectives without buying anything. Nice. Even though I'm unlikely to win, it was fun.

Oh, and Empire: Total War and Flight Control HD are 50% off today.

Have all 10 that I need. I bought Just Cause 2 because I've been wanting that one. and a couple of the indie games that looked fun to me. Just log in monday and I'm good. Of course I'll also need to resist the urge to buy everything in sight when I log on.

Today's the big day! I'm not sure if I have all ten, though, since the "Overachiever" objective keeps glitching.

I wonder what the first set of Christmas deals will be...

The first deal should be a low introductory APR exclusive Steam credit card... No minimum, No maximum, No annual fee.

The last deal should be a cheap lawyer service to handle your bankruptcy claim...

    Here's a PROTIP:

Don't impulsively buy everything right now.

Wait till the last day to buy the games in case anything goes on the daily deal.

lol the steam store is getting raped, it's loading slower than usual

    hahaha

@Bearclaw good tip, and I personally found out that if the game is on sale and below 10 dollars, then the game/pack can't get any lower.
