OK we all knew EA is dirty but surely not this much?

lol This is old news, EA Sports has been putting out the same FIFA, NHL, and Tiger woods games for the last 5 years in a row for PC, no change, same bunk crap over and over, the only difference this year is Tiger Woods is now a browser game with only slightly better graphics, a bit of a different layout and even worse control (I've tried the beta). What EA loves to do is lure in stupid people by posting in game screen shots of the XBOX 360 and PS3 version titles under their PC titles so potential customers think they are getting a next gen game when in fact they are getting the same garbage as usual, poor sheeple.

I've been boycotting EA's sports games for the last 4 years in a row.. lol

The last EA game I've played was Red Alert 2. After that, I just couldn't be bothered with the garbage that EA churns.

Unfortunately, as a fan of RPGs, EA bought over BioWare, making boycotting them further impossible. I plan to play DA:O as soon as it is released. :p

EA is a profit maximizing company, as is every company. All they care about is making as much profit as they can. Consumers want to maximize their happiness by buying their games. Boom you have a clash of intentions, hence some one has to lose.

The number of once-great studios EA bought and marginalized is saddening.

Westwood, Bullfrog, Maxis, Origin, etc, etc, not to mention the hostile takeover attempt of Rockstar.

I really hope Bioware manages to make some more great titles before the inevitable slide into mediocrity occurs.

Some nut from Israel posting delicious copypasta in EA forums.
Who cares about the stuff they make. If you like it then you buy it, if not then you won't. -_-

It's disgusting how EA got their start on PC and Apple II, and now they don't even bother to give the PC (and Mac for that matter) the same kind of support they do for consoles because of 'piracy'. Lame. That's why I don't buy EA's games for PC. EA should take notes from Ubisoft when it comes to PC ports. At least Ubi admits a screw up (see Splinter Cell: Double Agent).

    Didn't you read the article?

"800,000,000 Sims games were released, most of them only minor updates that the community could mod itself, 8000, 000, 0000,000 Need for Speed games were released, with the last three of them being absolutely atrocious. It’s just your strategy now, instead of abandoning projects that are not doing well, you keep selling them and change the name to generate more money."

"FIFA 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 PC are a joke, they are the same game with few mods here and there.
Unfortunately not many people are smart enough to notice, and we live in a world where myths can go on for hundreds and thousands of years before being finally killed.

Most people are not familiar with the word soccer, neither evolution, but they know what FIFA stands for, so they buy your completely useless piece of **. and many people played FIFA 94 and liked it, so they buy your **** and many other people saw this amazing game on the PS3 and bought it for their PCs only to find out its 10 releases earlier, kind of back to the future."

And the excuses about piracy is total BS. I really don't like EA, their games seem to be rushed out, like if their project managers were business men that don't give a damn about Pc games. And don't say this is usual business and their goal is to make profit, because one of the most successful companies right now, Blizzard, is making the exact opposite of EA. I wish EA management had classes from Blizzard. Their games take long to get out, but at least it is a damn good game when it comes out.

Well, Maxis is probably the only name on that list that is seemingly immune to EA's touch of death. The Sims games are the best selling PC title of all time. (And another title I avoid like the plague)

Amen. PC people will buy good, quality, well-made, and fun games. I know I do. Annual re-hashes like EA does gets old fast, and the quality of their games suffer greatly because of it.

Are you kidding? Will Wright's gone, and look what EA did to the once great SimCity IP. SimCity: Societies? Are you kidding? It was childish crap. Maxis is EA-The Sims now, only a shadow of its former greatness. With Will gone and EA farming out all the valuable IP EA had to second rate studios that churn out mass market crap, Maxis is already functionally dead.

Their latest game, Spore was a huge selling hit, despite being a mediocre game. Considering how long ago Maxis was acquired by EA, I consider them to be pretty fortunate to survive this long. Though the descent into destruction seems pretty unavoidable now.

Spore was good, imo (though it was a true Wright masterbatory exercize, being more a simulator/sanbox/toy than a proper game). But yeah, Maxis is going the way of Westwood now, imo.

I've been a hater of EA since 2004 when they killed the 2K football series by signing as the only 3rd party publisher that could produce football games using real NFL teams and players. At that time I preferred the 2K series over Madden and since that time I have refused to buy any game made, produced by, or even related to EA. Last year I faltered and bought Crysis (decent) and Dead Space (great game) which made my first EA purchases in years but that exception aside I hope EA crashes and burns. They have been producing sub-par to average games for many years while buying up or buying out the competition. Not even the independent king Carmack stood up to EA but at least take-two wasn't taken over last year.

A lot of folks are complaining about EA going all console on Total Battlefield, EA needs a serious kick in the behind.

EA used to be the coolest software company out there (well, right behind Infocom) Archon, Dr. J and Larry Bird, M.U.L.E. and others. Sad to see this happen.
