I wonder if these games are equally demanding im having alot of struggle with overlord and i know that oblivion can be pretty harsh on system...

    t7250
    2gb ram
    8600GT
    160gb 5400rpm

I am using updated nvidia drivers and running at stock i also get only 3323 3dmarks in 1280x800 res

Overlord ressembles Oblivion in that manner that it uses effects of HDR lightning, bloom, v-sync and some few others
running everything max on native resolution gives me only about 13 FPS on average but what i find extremely strange is that when i switch to medium quality everything turns ugly(bloom and hdr dissapear) but im getting only 16 FPS and game looks worse than far cry and doom 3 i can run far cry without AA with over 40 FPS on average so i didnt expect that this game runned so terribly, I tried to set resolution to 800x600 and everything on low GAME looks like vommited Quake 3 and fps is locked at 30FPS but STILL sometimes it goes down to 28FPS i just dont get it is this card not enough to run it or is it the driver issue or the vista.

I would say Oblivion is much more demanding. The levels in Overlord aren't open in the same way they are in Oblivion. The shadows and lighting aren't as complicated in Overlord.
Don't have much of an answer, but I'm thinking maybe it's a bad port (believe it was ported from 360, not to the 360), but I don't have it for Windows, so I'm not sure :-/

50 minions on the screen at the same time can be quite intensive though :)

i tried the Overlord demo and have to say.. It actually is a good looking game.

Oblivion had such nice landscapes and towns..

Too bad all the characters and creature models were butt ugly.

    QFT!

Overlord is a darn fun game. I loved raiding pumpkin patches and having the minions running around wiht pumpkins on their heads. As well as watching them ride sheep hehe...

Overlord is a pretty nice game though, played and completed the 360 ver.

I'll say both Overlord and Oblivion lack of... "actions" "energy" I don't know the right word but you know? *Swing* *swing* *swing*... again *swing* *swing* *swing*

Cant they make more move into sword fight instead of the boring sword swinging?

Still, i'll prefer Oblivion despite of Overlord good looking characters because you can choose more variety of weapons and classes.

Wasn't Overlord PC first? It was supposed to be an MMORPG but failed miserably, afterwhich they decided to make it into a standalone single player game.

(Online game is still around, but not worth looking at for another 6months at least. Hopefully most of the bug's / glitches will be sorted out.)

Hrm, I was pretty sure that it was ported from the 360 to the PC. I never heard about it being a MMO. And I never really got around to trying the multiplayer in it.

I've played both of them,Overlord a single player third person adventure (very funny ;) ) and on xp is on a bit less demanding than Oblivion
