    Hey guys,

I have a Studio 17 with Radeon 3650 card, 2.53GHz cpu, 4GB RAM and 1440x900 max resolution. For any of you who played Oblivion- any idea what's the best possible video setting for running Oblivion? I tried setting anti-alias with HDR option but it wouldn't let me have the two together.

    Thanks for any suggestion!

You can't set AA with HDR, Just set everything on high, and play at your native resolution.

Thanks for your reply Ayle. Which option will give me better graphics - HDR, or the Bloom option with AA?

AA isn't all that necessary. It only smooths out the jagged lines that you "might" see on your screen. HDR completely changes the game's lighting and adds ALOT more to the graphics.

Also, you can do HDR with AA, you just need to download the latest patch.

Yep, just set AA in the ATi control panel.

OK, I now have some time :)

Theres a program called Streamline which is made for Oblivion and used to smoothen out the game play.

You will also need to have installed OBSE which is a script editor for Oblivion, I think. Which allows you to run Streamline

And it wouldn't hurt to have a flick through this: http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html

well i have an 9600m gs and a p8400 and I'm playing it right now:

    1400*900
    high settings
    no vsync
    hdr lighting

    25+ fps outdoor
    50+ indoor

you won't need AA, just raise the resolution.

Bloom is much more believable than HDR I feel.
