Yea, my bad again. I get slightly dislexic when I'm sleep deprived. UO is the proper abbreviation.

I played Oblivion briefly for like a couple hours, didn't like it. Quit it. Came back to it because the genre of RPG in first person and open world kept calling me back. I went back. ANd put in 80+ hours into it and got the GOTY to do the extras. Go back and play it.

    Skyrim will be sick.

Honestly I think the biggest problem with the game is that the gameplay is just tedious. Probably because I bought it thinking that there would be a multitude of different spells and abilities similar to WoW. But in reality the melee simply consists of running up and clicking then running back out of range rinse and repeat. Though I didn't give the game really enough time before I went into the console to max every stat so I was pretty much jesus running around nuking people with a ridiculous one hit aoe attack. The magic attacks were also exactly the same just with different colors ie electricity, frost or fire. I personally never really liked rpgs but I thought that I would have liked oblivion due to it being an fps and really beautiful in terms of graphics. But it turned out to be a far cry for me in the sense that I thought "Hey this game is so pretty to look at" but when I tried to actually play it i thought "The is this outdated gameplay doing in such a notoriously good game".

Oblivion wishes it could be half the game Morrowind ever was.

I've played both and I agree Morrowind is amazing, but remove the nostalgia factor and Oblivion is just as good. It's like arguing Baldur's Gate against Dragon Age, which are also two fantastic games.

Word and with the complete mods you will be amazed. Still Oblivion is a good game you just need to give it time to pull you into the world.

Allot of people don't like the idea of having to work to like a game but Oblivion is definitely one that is well worth it.

Try and get into it, once you get the flow of things there is no turning back.

I probably would have enjoyed it had I found the game at an earlier point in my life. Because after finally getting through endless rats and out of the sewer, I remember a spider attacked me in a "battle" that felt silly---and for a few seconds I felt like I was back in WoW. I just couldn't take it. =) But my bad for not being able to give it more of a fighting chance.
