Oblivion on 7700?

Such as found in, oh, say the Asus A8JS, for instance.

Is that game especialy playable on on the Go 7700?

 

It's definitely playable however you may have to turn some of the settings down.

Note the Go7700 is slightly better than the X1600 More info if you search (perhaps one of the reviews of laptops with the 7700 had Oblivion as one of the test games!) or in the Oblivion thread maybe (considering 7700 relatively new)

 

Really? I thought the Geforce Go 7700 could run Oblivion on Full settings. That is a big disappointment.

 

i thought u could only have bloom or hdr enabled. not both. maybe i am mistaken.

 

Well back on release, even the top range desktop cards struggled to run Oblivion on max. It is a very taxing game. But as the screen shots have shown, both in the review and the Oblivion thread, with a little tweaking, the game is still very much playable and still quite pretty

I do not believe that even a Go 7900GS will run Oblivion with ALL the eye candy cranked up 100%.

 

it can but it just wont be playable (in my eyes that is) i guess it all depends on the person, weither u can stand playing with 20fp, 30 or 60. in my eyes 60fps is perfect. smooth as silk and a killians irish red. but for real im not even sure a 7950GTX will run that game maxed out, and when i say maxed out i mean with a decent resolution (ie 1680 x 1050 or above). nothing beats high res gaming. if u havent played a game on, or have seen a game being played on a 1080p resolution, u are missing out on LIFE! and i dont think the geforce 7 series in general can play games (other than the source engine) with HDR and AA, bloom is kinda lame and isnt as pleasing as HDR, in my opinion that is. dont wanna start a war.

 

WUXGA is the best so far.

 

Native resolution with lower settings looks better in my eyes than higher settings and non-native resolution.

HDR looks better than bloom. Grass distance is EVIL. In towns, caves and indoors i get 25-45-ish Fps, depending on where I am with high settings, 1440x900, HDR, minimum grass distance. In the wild i get something like 17-ish fps (still playable, only barely though) and with a lot of grass 15-ish (not playable, but it looks good, so i don't care). My drivers settings is set to quality, and my gpu is OC'd

 

Set your drivers to "Performance" and you will notice a reasonable performance increase..

 

yes, but it won't look as pretty, which was my poin... if i was worried about performance, i would slowly decrease settings till i got higher framerates, which i only generally need in areas with a lot of long grass. And i won't turn them off, because it's not as pretty without them, everything looks flat. I don't like flat.

well I run it at 1440 x 900 with no anti aliasing distance medium and high textures at 30-60 fps or more.

I have even set it all the way to max at 1440 x 900 i mean everytihng just for the hell of it and it still goes like 15-20 fps until a group of monsters comes into the picture then it goes to 1 fps at times.

I run it at high settings and at this resolution you couldnt do that with the x1700 or x 1600 or 7600

I mean look the recomended spec for oblivion is an x800 or 6800
so the x7700 is higher in some benchmarks than either of those. I would say though I bet they run oblivion a little better because even though their speed is lower their bit interface is 256 vs 7700 is 128 bit

But to make a long story short it meets the recomended specs to play oblivion. Basically everything
