    System Specs:
    Intel t7500 2.2 ghz
    8600M GT 512mb
    2gb ram

    Using drivers 177.41
    My SM2.0 score is 1600
    SM3.0 is 1300
and my cpu score is 700.

Is this normal, and what could be causing this?

First question and not trying to insult you, but is your computer set to power saver or balanced? I think your cpu should get about 1500-1800 so if was downclocked to half speed it would make sense that it would score about half. Your gpu scores look good from all I know about the 8600gt, which is not much :)

Hah, no, it's set to high performance. I've made that mistake before.

I don't know if its downclocked. Is there a way I can check?

this is running some cpu intensive program? try this to see if it goes all the way up to 2.2. Are you sure that you are not running that you didn't clicked in some maximize battery life or the like by mistake, or that windows saved the option you wanted?

    here is the odd part:

When on balanced or power saver, the multiplier is set at x8

When on high peformance, the multiplier is set to x6. Once in a while it bumps up to x11

I did some searching and someone mentioned it could be intel speed step. But I am unable to access the bios to turn it off.

Also, it seems odd that this has only been plaguing me recently.

    1100mhz or 1200mhz?

Monitor your temps, could be overheating while doing the 3dmark test causing it to thermally downclock

You don’t want to disable “Speed Step” from the BIOS, which will certainly run your CPU at its lowest speed. Setting your notebook to power mode, should in fact keep it running at full power all the time. If not, there is a program that will set your clock to run at full power all the time.

Which notebook do you have, and what Operating System are you using?

Awesome, it seemed to be an issue of heat.

    All better,

I clocked an 1800 for cpu
