I just got Crysis and the game runs poorly, but I get an avg. of 30+ FPS or so, on my Alienware m9750. I can play on Medium - High Settings with decent fps, but it randomly freezes for a couple seconds and makes buzzing noises in-game. It happens often. Sometimes every other second or 30 seconds inbetween. The FPS doesn't drop and in the r_displyinfo 1 it shows me getting 30+ FPS. It also states only about 768mb memory being used. I think it should it be more? What can I do to increase that to my full 2gb? I updated to the most recent drivers, and have an 8313 3dmark06 score. My computer specs are below. I am really confused and really want to play this game. Its unplayable!

There is a specific tread on this forum for setting up your sli system for best performance, search for SLI setup/SLI setup m9750.

When you say that the game doesnt take up the entire 2gb, what else is hoggin the memory? I know xp hoggs 250 while idling...

I don't have anything else using the memory except the OS. It just caps out, and does not go above 768. The only other applciation I have open is like McAfee, but that doesn't take up any virtual memory in the taskmanager.

to be honest thats just how crysis is. To max out that game you need quad SLI with about 4 geforce 8800 ULTRA and 4GB ram and Intel core 2 Extreme or Athlon FX or something real high end.

Its sad I know but the germans are more skilled than Americans it would seem as crysis is a German company.

True, but I have seen other m9750 and Notebook users getting the same FPS. They just don't have the random glitching I am getting. Thanks for the responses.

    Aah i see hmm interesting...

you know STALKER gives the same problem that swapping sticking problem.

Have you tried defragmenting your HDD? Try that and it might work.
    And if that fails.

Reinstall XP and I guarantee you it will work.
your registry must be corrupt or something.

BTW: I believe America is the greatest place on earth cause they have more highways and sidewalks than anywhere in the world. Well thats what my aunt who lives in NY says anyways.

damn I wish I was an American to.

Just read the gazillion threads about Crysis performance, there`s no laptop that can play it on high with more than 35-40 fps . But I play on 1024x768, med shaders and shadows and all rest high,an average 25 fps. With the 169.28 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com . Try those for a change and see how that works...

I just plugged in my external monitor and there was no dip in FPS. It got rid of most of the glitches for some reason! It only occurs like once every couple of minutes. I am using the new alienware drivers 167.46 and it works like a charm now. I have tried 169.09, 169.21, and 169.28 and all did not work to well. These work great! I guess my system is overkill for 1440x900.

Well, for SLI it seems that the best drivers might be 169.09 , or .04 if I`m not mistaken. By not running well, what do you mean? You have to COMPLETELY remove older drivers and set the new ones...that`s what I always do,and 169.28 work like a charm. Massive boost of performance from .04 (at least 5+ fps in Crysis)...

As I stated I have followed the guide and completely removed the old drivers correctly and installed all of those 169 drivers individually. The best performance I have gotten has been out of the 167.46 drivers. I am not talking about low FPS people my average FPS is 35. I am talking about the fact that it randomly stutters for a second or two, but thats not FPS it just semi freezes. It stops working completely then goes back to 35 FPS.
