Odd modern warfare 2 crash

So I bought modern warfare 2 with some christmas money and it worked fine the first day I played it...It crashed the first time I started it but it restarted fast enough. I ended up playing the whole campaign straight through so for about 10 hours I was having an absolute blast. Now today, the program refuses to go more than 2 or 3 seconds (usually enough for me to select "single player") until it frezes, forcing me to ctrl+alt+del and end the program's task. The error I'm being given is an AppHangB1 error apparently.

All google searches have failed. The only advice I could find was to make sure I have good video drivers. The ones i had were 195.81 and I rolled back to 195.62 that were official nvidia supported, digitally signed drivers for windows 7 64-bit. The crashes have continued

Does anyone have ANY idea what's going on here? I really want to like this game, I really do. But if it can;t get past the main menu....well obviously there is no hope for this game....

You mean it completely freezes, you can't move the cursor or anything? Does the background music still go on? If so, this is a pretty common issue. Just wait it out; it will take a minute or two, and then everything will start moving again. I'm not sure why it does this, but IW knows about it and are supposedly working on it.

 

yeah this is gonna sound weird, but just let it sit there for a minute. maybe 100 seconds at most, usually less. you have to deal with that once per program launch, until they fix it. i have been having that issue forever, but it went away after the latest patch.

try and update the game if possible, that may help. otherwise refer to the first part.

 

Okay...so now it just hangs at the splash screen....ANd it started doing this right after I forwarded the ports properly and double checked that yes my router is setup correctly because I got it to work one more time for multiplayer and then I couldn't find any games and when I went to do spec Ops it kept saying my NAT was Strict and I had bad lag

I might contact infinity ward if this keeps up and ask a few questions because this isn't right at all....I might even demand my money back, not from the store I got it from but from the developers....
