I am surprised Aorus aren't offering a slim SLI model.

I am also stumped why they are offering a desktop 1080 gpu when the laptop version performs almost the same. I must be missing something.

I am really torn between a dual 1080 behemoth or a top of the line slim/compact single gpu gaming laptop with option to add an external card down the line.

    Exciting times!!!

It looks like the only 14" laptop with a Pascal GPU on the market thus far is the GS43VR Phantom Pro (and there's nothing at all that's smaller than 14"). There won't be a Pascal successor to the 14" Clevo P640RE/RF for a while it seems. Too bad.

MSI has put up the new Pascal Laptop product pages.

Here is the main landing page for all the new MSI laptops, with clickable links to the new product pages for each new model:
http://event.msicomputer.com/nbpascal/ <== Scroll down toward the bottom of the page.

Right off the top, no "K" CPU's in the GT83VR :(

The GT83VR has 6920HQ's, and there are 2 models, a 1080 SLI and 1070 SLI

GT83VR TITAN SLI (GEFORCE® GTX 1080 SLI) NO Specification page or models
    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GT83VR-TITAN-SLI-6th-Gen-GTX-1080-SLI.html#hero-overview

The manual shows both 230w and 330w power supplies, and also says "Optional" - I am assuming the 2nd Power adapter is going to be optional and cost extra(?).

    GT83VR TITAN SLI (GEFORCE® GTX 1070 SLI) Models SLI-055 and SLI-023
    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GT83VR-TITAN-SLI-6th-Gen-GTX-1070-SLI.html#hero-overview

The 1080 SLI Support page does have some downloads, including Manual and Utility:
    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT83VR-TITAN-SLI-6th-Gen-GTX-1080-SLI.html#down-manual

Still reading up on the details :)

I'm waiting for this too. This is one of the way(s) I can get a 1080 without spending a fortune. The other one would be to sell my current DM at a loss and get the DM3.

If Nvidia would screw me on this. They would just loose me as a customer and I will buy PC & netbook instead of new P870DM3. Since this would be an outrage.

http://xmg.gg/ has theirs up - but no 4k screen option for the 717 (P775DM2). And no non-sli version of the 727 (P870DM3) (which does have a 4k option).

And nothing on the UK website yet.

    Arghh!

Is this thread for 10xx laptops discussion only, or is it also for desktop 10xx Series discussion?

Let's talk both. Khenglish in techinferno successfully grafted a desktop 980 into a 980m card. Now imagine moving a 1070 core from mobile to desktop. I also wonder if a 1080 core could be put on a 1070 card like the msi 1070, or if the different memory type would prevent this...

Seems like kind of an edge case to use for claiming range on this thread :)

I was hoping we could move the desktop GPU's out to a desktop 10xx thread, and I thought @Ethrem intended that to be so, but maybe things changed.

There should be enough laptop Pascal news and new info to keep this new thread busy for a while

The memory might be an issue. 980m to 980 were both 256-bit GDDR5 interfaces.

    Who knows though...

I just wanted to bring up that some cool **** may be in our future and these cards are not as different as they used to be component wise now (plus wanted to pick a situation that you would have a hard time saying doesn't belong here involving desktop gpus)!!!

Well, actually, it's clearly in the laptop realm because it's installed in a laptop :)

Putting a desktop GPU chip on a laptop MXM is clearly a laptop thing, not a desktop thing. It may be a "Frankenstein", but it's "our" laptop "Frankenstein"

I think talking about desktop GPU's, desktop installations, desktop liquid cooling upgrades, and desktop GPU benchmarking are all clearly fit for another thread, in the desktop tree.

Let's wait for @Ethrem to make the call :)

Desktops have their own forum. There has been Pascal discussion there for awhile now. I think that comparison of laptop and desktop performance is acceptable among owners but outside of that, it should be kept to laptops.

That's a poor SLI review, it's a shame they published it.

Here is an *excellent* review of SLI 1080:

Clearly SLI 1080 is awesome, when the game scales with SLI :)
