If you own the 8800m gtx in sli on any laptop, please post your crysis results here. Posting "very high" results would be nice

i heared that on the 8800 sli can't manage high shaders shadows, and texture. yet alone very high

In desktop systems, the 8800GTX SLI setup nets about 10 FPS more than a single 8800GTX setup. I'd expect similar results from a notebook SLI setup.

Yep, a disaster allright...

I wonder how many frames can someone get on 800x600 all very high with 2xaa. You gotta admit 800x600 doesn't look bad at all on a dell 17 inch laptop

An SLI system should manage 1440x900 all high, EASILY.
But something tells me the drivers are still a disaster, as I stated above... -
I can post some with my M1730 8800m GTX SLI. Note though this benchmark were run using the demo, the full game with the patch 1.1 is better optimized. Will test that later on when I have it installed.
Though here it is running DX9 and Very High hacked custom config autoexec.cfg and running at 1920x1200.

Yeah downloading it right now. Will get back to you guys tomorrow when I have the full game installed and with the patches. Since I know they have optimized SLI in Patch 1.1 so it will be nice to see if I get any increase, but the game looks damn spectacular at 1920x1200

Reducing stuttering would mean basically increasing min fps
-
game shouldn't stutter at 35fps and it has been for me.
-
Well, it depends on the game though.
I find that Unreal Tournament is not playable under 45 fps, since it`s very fast paced. 40 MIGHT still be ok, but below that you would say it lags.
Crysis definitely does not lag or stutter at 35 fps, unless it`s dip from 60-70 fps. Which I doubt it the case.
Anyway,stuttering translates in real life by huge differnces between min and max fps. You can have the same average but with more min fps and less max, since the average is the one you`ll see more frequently.
A fluent game has not been invented though,neither any drivers that can do that... -
Hi, I just got a new laptop, which has the 8800m gtx sli, and i'd post my benchmark scores in here if I'd know how to makes the bench
Someone tell me?
-
There are two files for benchmarking in the Crysis install directory, called something like Benchmark_CPU.exe and Benchmark_GPU.exe.
Once you've chosen the settings you want in Crysis, exit the game and run these two files in turn. When one is finished, it will show you a dos-prompt screen with info about FPS on it like posted in page one of this thread. Note that info down and run the second file. -
Crysis Benchmark Tool -
Thanks for the benchmark tool!
I tried running it, putting everthing on very high, DX10 etc ..
But when I launch it, it starts Crysis, load, and prompt me "Press a key to continue" if i wont press, it wont change, and if i press, i get to see the introduction little movie, and then to play. As i'm not completly stupid, isn't a bench suppose to be some kind of video where i should not be playing ... ?
It won't end (i've been playing about 1hour), and then when i exit the game it does not display the results but something like that:
4/3/2008 2:41:42 AM - Vista
Beginning Run #1 on Map-island, Demo-benchmark_gpu
DX10 800x600, AA=No AA, Vsync=Disabled, 32 bit test, FullScreen
Demo Loops=3, Time Of Day= 9

ps: i got crysis 1.2, maybe it's not compatible with this version of the toolbench ? -
just use FRAPS and see how much you get, post some screenshots and worry about the built in benchmarking tool later
-
Ok, so there's some screenshot that I took, using fullversion of FRAPS 2.9.4:
Game's settings were all on "VERY HIGH" running with DX10 (no AA).
Overall FPS is about 30 I would say, but as soon as there's some shooting or booming, it's dropping to 20 and lower. -

My computer:
Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000(2.8GHz, 800Mhz 6M L2 Cache)

The resolution used during the time I took the screens:

edit: If anyone would explain how to bench it, i would. (It's probably more reliable than screenshots) -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
up the resolution to 1280*720
for hd 720p.
and what is the highest your screen resultion can go -
OK, do what I tried to tell you at the end of page 2, before the post about the additional benchmark tool. These are in-built benchmark tools that 1. fly you through the first level, 2. go through a scripted destruction of a few buildings.
Go to the Crysis directory, then the Bin32 directory (at least for the demo, unsure if it's different for the full game). Run Benchmark_CPU.bat for benchmark 1 (it will loop 3 times) and at the end it will give you min, avg and max fps for the settings you last had in Crysis (so set those by starting up the game first, then exiting the game before you run the benchmarks). Note these down, then run Benchmark_GPU.bat for the second benchmark. -
I can say I average with DX10 all options on High and at 1920x1200 34 fps I can post the min max when I get home from work.
With a custom tweak to make it look Very High but in DX9 I average 38fps can post that too. This on the laptop in sig, though the GPU´s overclocked to 645/1600/950. -
I can up to 1900x1200 maximum.
Following what you said, I was able to run the Bench, but at the end, it won't give me the average, the min and the max. Just "press a key to continue", closing the cmd. -
kooper go into the subfolders if your Crysis dir and to the Level Folders and then Island folder. There you have a log with all your benchmarks and what min max fps you have, open it up with notepad and copy and paste here.
-
Editing the benchmark_cpu batch file, I see:
@echo Running CPU benchmark 1
@echo Results will depend on current system settings
@pause
@echo Running...
@crysis.exe -DEVMODE +map island +exec benchmark_cpu
@type "..\Game\Levels\island\benchmark_cpu.log"
@pause
(It's showing the path it's going to save the log)
Going to the Game .. levels ... island .. I do not have a file named benchmark_cpu.log
I got one named benchmark_cpu, but it's a TMD file, which if I open with the notepad, looks like chinese.
EDIT: I created the file myself, and it now works, i'll run a few bench with different resolutions and settings, and i'll post. -

Though who wants to play 720p on a WUXGA, it doesn´t matter that it is Crysis in Very High it looks like crap in my opinion on 720p no a WUXGA. Though running Crysis on High and 1920x1200 native is something
-
Want me to bench 1900x1200 / NO AA / HIGH ?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
-
Aha allright, fair enough
-
EDIT: This was in DX10 mode. Now I do not have vista installed and i can max everything out in Dx9 with no problems (the only problem being when I launch it with FRAPS, it crashes.) -
Can someone update this thread using benchmarks with the latest drivers. Which i think should increase the performance of this sli set up substantially.
-
I would , but I don`t have Crysis around anymore. I`ll try in a few days...
-
oK PLEASE DO.
all i want to do is the play the game on all high at 50fps.
1920 1200
and this is the only laptop i can get for a low price that can do it. I can get it cheap with the 8800m sli set up. -
50 fps , 1920x1200? won`t happen, not unless you get something better than even SLI 9800M GTXs...
30 fps is achievable with 8800M SLI setups... -
Hmm high all 1920 1200 can i at least nab 40 fps average.
-
With custom configs, yes.
Stock High, if OCed, probably around 35-40 average, with the x9000 cpu. -
Sound good. Hopefully i can get as lucky as my cousing who got a m1730 on ebay for like 700 dollars because the seller tagged it wrong lol. And he was the only one that noticed it.
I envy him so...
