You mean at the funeral? Just run to a corner where the archers can't attack then counter when he attacks and hit him when hes down.

Defense break is hard because you have to hit it very early on in the grab. The best/fastest technique to kill bosses is counter, knock to ground, then quick switch hidden blade and assassinate them while they're down. That way it's a 1 hit kill, works with other enemies too.
-
Oh, sweet. It pissed me off though that I`m going for Robert and I have to kill another thousand damn guards. Such a dumb idea.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
Killing the girl can be quite easy, once the action starts, break and run to the nearest group of vigilantes, they will thin the ranks, fight off a few, when I did it, one of the vig grabbed her, and I came up behind with the hidden blade and done.
-
I just finished the game.
Now I really hope they make an AC2 -
So I got through the first big town (not the starting one)...
Is there anymore to this game than running around and getting to those perches to map more area then helping civilians and what not?
I kinda like the story, but I'm wondering if it's worth playing through if the story telling mechanism is this lame. I've gotten bored with the way it plays already, but if theres some new stuff I'll see when I get to the later towns... I'd like to stick with it. -
You don`t have to save the citizens. I haven`t saved more than 2 or 3. But after saving them, the vigilantes will help you in fights and outrunning the guards.
The story telling is awesome. Somewhat repetitive, but trust me , the story is unbelieveble.
I`m a sucker for a good story and don`t regret getting this game.
Give it a try,it`ll turn out interesting soon enough -
The graphics on the DX10 executable are very well done, high quality textures everywhere, very realistic smog and smoke, the best I´ve seen...
So far 1680x1050 2xAF all max no probs... -
Graphics are impressive, but really... Graphics only wow me for a short time before I really look past them and into the gameplay itself. -
Wow. I ran it 1066x600, details 4/4, shadows 2/3 and multisampling 3/3 in order to get over 25 fps at all times, mostly 30+ . I can`t stand it when a game runs below 25 fps.
The only time it dipped into the low 20 was at a funeral(you`ll see it later on) when there a lot of people running like crazy in all directions(absolute minumum 20) .
Also when in the lab,it runs weird, some stutter at times. -
). But the best part for me was the exploring. Maybe it helps being interested in the Crusades' history.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
It ran near flawlessly for me cranked at 1680x1050 except for the dock area on the Sibrand mission, I guess its cause my GTS is a 320, but whenever i was facing the water, which is most of the time on that stage, i had to lower everything and it still was herky jerkey. If I turned away from the water the FPS shot straight back up.
-
on what setting can i run it with my xps 1530 with t7500 and 8600gt?
-
Probaly 1280x800, details 4/4 , shadows 2/3 .multisampling 1/3 at 20-30fps.
-
Here is some printscreens:
1680x1024 DX10
0xAA 2xAF
4/4, 3/3, 1/3
I don´t know the exact FPS, but feels me something around 20/30FPS.
resized
FRAPS just doesn´t work, on both dx9 and dx10 executables. All the time showing 350 FPS(I wish) -
That`s because you need to choose a resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio.
Compliments of console porting.
Wow,it runs nicely on your system.
I guess my 7950GTX just sucks now.
Or your CPU might help also...
How far are you OCing the GPU ? -
The 7950GTX doesn´t suck, is a great graphics card. The only problem with it is that almost all recent titles are very shader intensive games... and that is the weak point of 7950GTX...
One 8700M GT with is SPs stock(1250Mhz) is capable of processing 4 times more shaders than 7950GTX... but I´ve mine runing at 1850Mhz... 50% performance increase in that field. So 4 times become 6 times... and this without considering the core frequecy increase and mems at 2000Mhz. If the 8700M GT had an 256bits bus...
My CPU was at 2.4Ghz, no OC... only the graphics card(762/1850/2000).
-
Actually 1680x1050 = 16:10.
Try 1680x960 for example , or 1366x768. That`s 16:9 , and will remove the bars, and fraps will show up correctly. -
-
Try a 16:9 resolution and check the fps. You might be surprised

@ OP: Noticed the comment about Mass Effect in your sig. Go ahead and give it a try. It's not really "enorm[ous]" at all. You can easily finish the game once in a 20-hour playthrough. If you want to try every little thing, including a second and third playthrough for all conversation options and the like, maybe 50-60 hours, at the most?

The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Thx for the support. Yeah I played the game a good bit on the 360. I was more concerned about talking in the gameplay. AC looked like an easy job but when I got into it, their was alot to talk about and I'm sure I missed some stuff. Plus I want to do GRID really bad and they come out within a week of each other. I'll try.
-
I don't know if anyone asked but... Is it playable with a M1530 ?? 8600m GT with which settings?
-
"8600M GT DDR2 Driver Version 174.84
All Settings Max with shadows on Med. 1280 x 800
Overclocked (575/475)- Avg. FPS-25 Low-19 High- 31" -
Now that most of the people have finished the game, I think all the hype is gone.
No multi,so once you`ve finished it, that`s about it... -
I got bored after I killed the third boss, not sure if I should uninstall it or what.
-
Finish the game, the story is awesome!
Only after about the 5th assassination will the game really start showing up nice parts... -
wow, I have played the game in standard definition on a 360, and it looks so much more detailed on the pc. Of course, its probably the same as high def on the 360.
But 18+?
The console version was 15.
Interesting.
And this game, truly does rock, in every way, even if it has a disappointing play time. Now imagine this game with the scope of oblivion...
Oh, 1 comment on the port from consoles (I haven't looked to see if anybody has said this already, sorry if they have):
Assassin's Creeds recommended requirements for pc are 3gb. hmm. how did the 360 version work with it's 512mb of ram? somebody wasn't quite in tune when they ported it over. -
This game is awesome, great review. Yeah, the gameplay can get repetetive at times, but seeing how they Ubi fixed that a bit in the pc version, AC2 should rock.
It's sad that Altair wont be in the next one. He is my new favorite game hero.
If you could call him that. -
would you mind putting a SPOLIERS tag into your message please??? geez -
