Did a search and I didn't see any Watch Dogs-Specific thread around here but I feel we would benefit from it as this game is more than a problem for those of us that want to get the most out of the PC version.

Most threads I find on the internet are mostly full of desktop users so it would be nice to have one focused around our needs.

TheWorseMod has just been updated to 0.97c. I haven't gotten to try it yet. I will be trying it later tonight.

    TheWorse Mod for WatchDogs

So far I have not been able to find a working solution for the stuttering problems outside of lowering my textures in-game to High from Ultra. This is a measure I was hoping to avoid. Hopefully the new version of the mod will help remedy that.

I'm at work so I can't post pics/specs of how my game is running ATM but it would be nice if others could contribute their specs/FPS/settings to compare. Would be great to find some more 880M SLI users to share with in particular.

We do have a Watch Dogs thread but we'll keep this one too, for discussions related to TheWorse Mod.

The new version of the mod fixed a LOT of performance issues for me. I still have some stuttering, but not as much. The only other complaint is it seems the glowing effects are a little bit too cranked.

Completely off-topic, but I really wish there was a New Game+ mode in Watch Dogs. After beating the campaign and finishing most of the side missions, I find very little enjoyment in doing what's left of the game. Right now my only workaround is to find a save file that's early on in the game with mostly everything unlocked.

I noticed once I finished the game most of the side missions disappeared. I was so annoyed.

Yeah performance improved for me too.

Is anyone still using the 0.8 setup tool with 0.97?

That was confusing to me. I wasn't sure if I should use that still or not. I removed all of the .8 files before using the .97 ones because I feared compatibility issues.

Yeah same. I just dropped the 2 file in and overrode the old ones. I haven't felt I've need to change the settings. It seems the DOF is finally fixed and not so intrusive and the performance is much better than 0.8.
Yeah the same now looks a marvel.

From what I hear, it doesn't increase requirements and if it does, it's by a very small margin.

In other news: Version 1.0 is out of TheWorse mod.

It works great for me outside of some lighting issues

Biggest development for stuttering: BORDERLESS WINDOWED MODE. I had horrible game-breaking stuttering going on and someone suggested that borderless windowed would fix it. And it did. It has pretty much been cleared up 95%. The game is finally playable again for me. I highly recommend this for everyone.

He's asking if the mod reduces stuttering, not increases it. From what I've read, the included MaLDo texture fix allows those with 2GB cards to run modded Ultra textures ("High" in-game) without the excessive stutter experienced with vanilla Ultra textures.

He asked if it reduces VRAM requirements. I don't see him saying anything about stuttering.

My bad, that was in the other Watch Dogs thread. But in the context of this game, they are one and the same.

I see what you're saying, but I don't agree entirely just on the basis that something as stupid as borderless windowed mode fixed my stuttering problems.

The reason borderless windowed mode fixes stuttering is that it disables SLI which currently is broken for WD. You can achieve the same result by just going into NV control panel and setting SLI settings for WD to Single GPU. Not sure why we'd buy the second card if all games run like that :p

Are you sure? I've ran WD in non-SLI mode and it nearly cuts the framerate in half. Completely unplayable.

I always thought SLI didn't work unless full screen, much like Crossfire but.. Did some digging and it turns out SLI works to various degrees in windowed modes since some time ago. Will try your fix when I get home.

This is a thread on SLI in windowed mode for those interested. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/629559/sli/definitive-answer-on-sli-and-borderless-fullscreen-windowed-/

SLI works fine in a window (unlike CrossFire) but performance drops compared to exclusive fullscreen mode.

Tried borderless but only got slight improvement in FPS. GPU utilization hovers around 70% for both cards and there's a tiny hint of stuttering. Maybe it's the mod I'm using (Enhanced Reality 3.1)..

I'm using .97 still and am getting good results using a standard SLI profile now. Stuttering is not an issue. 0.8 to 0.97 brought pretty good performance improvements for me.
Am going to try 1.0 and see what happens

i just got the mod running yesterday and its a lot better than it was in may. my fps still drops to 30 when driving, but it doesnt stutter. when not driving around, i get around 40-50 fps average on high settings with no motion blur depth of field. my vram and ram is still maxed out. im not using sweetfx, so i dont really see any difference between vanilla and with the mod. maybe its just me getting old. main part for me is that the game is a lot smoother. vanilla looked fine to me anyway. btw does the mod decrease the volume? for some reason the sound is way way too low.

I tried this with my 680m. High settings in game, High Textures in game, 1.0 w/ textures. Is there a need to have textures at high with this mod w/ its textures?

what about performance?does this mod improve performance on nvidia cards?I play watch dogs on my 760C and its mostly 25-30fps cause i locked it on 30fps...occasionally stuttering especially while driving faster...could it be cause of vram?it goes slightly over 2000mb sometimes...but my card has 2048mb?or when playing games background process consume vram so while playing games im not alocated with fully 2048mb vram my card has?it always stays between 1900-2000mb vram usage
