I know there is a GeForce Go7400, But as I understand the X1400 Is a bit better. I will post screenshots of Oblivion, (NOt running the Oldblivion because it runs great) Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2, Quake 4, Half-Life 2: episode 1, and FEAR. I would post some now, but im at college, and they get kind of pissed when you run games durring class
EDIT: Im going to move all the Screenshots that i have posted to the first page under my name, if you would like yours to be added to my name, let me know, or if you have a post on the 1st page, you can add yours to that:

There you have it.
One thing that i have noticed, if that when FRAPS is running, i get a decrease in FPS between 4-9 FPS. So the preformance may be higher in some games when not running FRAPS.

Hey thats great. My T60 just shipped so I will be curious to see how well Oblivion plays on the X1400. Looking forward to lots of pics
And I will definitely contribute when my lappy arieves.
-
Just because I know, I run the game at 1280X800 Grass, trees, distant Building etc. On, and Viewing distance 100%, but no HDR, Dynamic lighting, and no shadows, and the game bottoms out at 22 FPS, and gets like 79ish in the imperial City marketplace at night when not many people are out.
-
Say thats pretty good, are you running any mods or have you done any INI tweaks?
-
i get a 3.6 on Aero Graphics for my WEI (lowest score)

I know the FPS bar is jumping around/isn't there but for these screenshots were at 1280x800, medium-low settings, capped FPS; and are of C&C3. This is what I play at, still holds FPS at above 25 in big battles. All screenshots with stock speeds/catalyst 7.4/4.1 score on Vista Test; all but the first two are zoomed.
Now to see if the x1400 can hold up to the eye candy; 1280x800, all settings are at ultra high, 10 frames per second average. You be the judge! (different games to come if I get the time to haggle with imageshack lol)
COUNTERSTRIKE: SOURCE
And from CS: Source, with 44 FPS average:

F.E.A.R COMBAT
Ok I downloaded Fear single player demo version 1.00. First two screenshots are of 1024x768 medium cpu, medium graphics settings. This averaged about 30-32 frames per second but it jumped around a lot imho. This would be the looks of the PLAYABLE setting (30+ FPS).

WORLD IN CONFLICT BETA
This time I have taken screenshots of the World in Conflict closed beta. This game re-defines RTS standards by implementing a full 360 rotational camera with a wide variety of zoom capabilities, and a very advanced & scalable 3D + physics engine.
Tips: Currently this game is very GPU dependant and not so much CPU depandant. This game will eat up video memory like mad , regardless of the resolution. The developers "rule of thumb" is low for 128mb, medium for 256mb, high for 512mb, and nothing short of an 8800 or HD2900 for Ultra High.
Settings: These were taken at 1024x768 with low settings. With the first four screenshots I had my card at stock clocks (440/445 low-level). You can see just below the upper-left hand corner that it was giving me a VRAM buffer overload, to fix this I had to overclock (513/445 low-level). Although the overclock was not much it managed to get rid of the VRAM buffer overload and increased the game a few FPS. I only took a fraps benchmark at stock speeds, 1024x768/low, for 3 minutes; resulting in a range of 15-33 FPS, 90% of the time 17-21FPS. As this is an RTS im going to consider this playable speeds (even in the options menu it gave a cap option of 15, 20, or 30FPS). Keep in mind that this is the closed beta and I did not spend enough time with the very scalable graphics options.
Pictures:
GHOST RECON ADVANCED WARFARE 2
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare 2 Multiplayer Demo. Windows Vista + Catalyst 7.2 + 520/445 , under-average playable at lowest might get over 30 at 800x600 but I didn't try it. Also I should mention Quake Wars: Enemy Territory is unplayable on x1400. Anyways heres GRAW2 scores:
2007-08-05 20:13:25 - graw2

Frames: 6025 - Time: 366920ms - Avg: 16.520 - Min: 9 - Max: 28
UPDATE: Lowering the resolution to 800x600, turning textures to low, and updating my drivers to catalyst 7.8 for that test yielded constant 27FPS average and no dips below 15. (reverted back to catalyst 7.2 after because I need it for CS:S/C&C3)
Comments
Absolutely amazing game. Very playable at 15+ FPS, >15 seems to be too choppy to accurately shoot your gun in intense battle... but otherwise fine. Probably want to set the game to 800x600 which would increase stability more. You also have the option to lower the settings more but I did not. I could not stop taking screenshots throughout the demo because it looks so good

Same engine as bioshock (Unreal Engine 3), and for some reason everything on this engine just feels so good even below 30 fps, just basing this on my experience with Bioshock and now the MoH: AA. Of course its hard to run and doesn't offer a great deal of flexibility but its good to know I can run it.

HELL IN VIETNAM
Now some from The Hell in Vietnam demo on gamespot, 1024x768 + trillinear + medium settings averaged 26 FPS on fraps. This game is based on the Chrome engine. Since 'low' settings looked bad I needed to overclock the x1400 to make it playable on medium.

Those are some nice screenies. x1400 is a more powerful card than most people give it credit for. Good stuff.
-
-
anyone have pictures of f.e.a.r? for some reason f.e.a.r looks horrible on my x1400 and it still is slide-show like with low settings. an ati x200 from a thread not too long ago looked better then my x1400 when i play f.e.a.r.

Zoomastigophora Notebook Evangelist
link, I'm curious to see your performance on de_dust with your settings. 6xAA 16xAF and HDR on dust should be a slideshow for the X1400.
-
pictures are all well and good but you need fps to prove anything. Like th above poster said, at those setting yea a screenshot looks pretty but its not in the least playable.
Can you upload something to you tube or fileshack showing gameplay with fraps running? -
At those settings the de_dust scores were about 20 frames per second average, ive never actually played on that map before in source; HDR looks cool! I would post a video but whenever I hit the start movie button in fraps it cut the fps in half so wouldn't be accurate.

Cool pix! My laptop can't do anything like that, but my old gfx card on my desktop comp was an ATI Radeon 9800 and CSS looked a lot better than that! It was more glowey... maybe that was a bad thing cuz that card did have some problems with glow displacement. Also the pixel shading seemed a lot better. and I don't think I have played it since I got my new gfx card though so I cant give any new info. Anyways, with my new ATI Radeon X1650 the glow effects on the buildings in C&C 3 don't look nearly as good as that, even when I have the settings cranked all the way up. Whats up with that? it only seems better on the close up pic of the garrisoned building though, the rest look better on my cpu... seems strange though... I never played heroes but the lighting and polygon count don't seem so great. Do you have your ATI control panel settings way low because I had some problems with getting any good graphics in a game until I found out my settings were way low. This definitely blows the monitor off my laptop though with its ATI Radeon Xpress 200m, 1.8 ghz processor, and 512 ram! lol it cant even run C&C 3, it just crashes and restarts my computer, and CSS only runs at 10 - 30 fps at most on a pretty low setting! Are you sure thats a laptop that those screen shots are from? lol maybe I just need to reformat mine
well no I do need to reformat lol
PS. That Resolution seems extremely high for a laptop... what's the model?
Desktop CPU 3.2 GHz, 2.5 GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1650 pro AGP
Laptop: 1.8 GHz, 512 RAM, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M -
Even on low setting, what resolution are you at? Also you don't have AF or AA enabled, correct? -
his res is 1280x1024 by the looks of the shots
-
Anyone try Supreme Commander on the X1400?
I doubt you'll be able to get more than 15 FPS at minimum settings and resolution -
wow i like this game.. will it be multiplayer? since cod4 will go on stupid iraqi fields, i might give try to this game.
-
link1313 what resolution were u running css on for those screenies? did u overclock any?
-
Any games anyone wanted to see? I know someone mentioned Sup Com but I don't even want to try that one again (I tried demo 2 months ago) it was unplayable, well playable at beginning but once battles started i just said forget this. -
your cards default is 445/450? wow mine is 432/396...weird..I can only overclock mine and still have it stable to 479/441...wow
-
Oblivion MAYBE...?
Heh, I spelled maybe wrong. Mabye. -

Maybe you could show us some of the 'older' games like Farcry, Prince of Persia etc.

Sorry guys, I sent my lappy to dell, because it started making this strange sound, But i will have it back by tomorrow, and will post some screenies of Oblivion (no mods) and Battlefield 2142.
-
Hey any update on your notebook? Its always a pain when they start doing weird things. looking forward to the Oblivion screens though. My copy should be arriving in the mail next week...
-
allright, Im uploading my Oblivion pictures now. Is there an easier way to post screenshots, other than going to imageshack, uploading them, then posting the link?
-
I will post some BF 2142 a little later today.
-
^^ Sorry for the language, I didnt see it untill I posted it.
-
Ah an FPS man
, glad I get to see both sides of things. Nice pics!
-
Oblivion is the only RPG i play... if you call it that. Other than that, I play FPS only.
-
do any of you guys have experience with LOTRO?
i'm >_< (this close) to getting an dell 6400 w/ the x1400
thanks -
Screenshot of Armed Assault. Inspiron X1400 stock clocks, catalyst 7.1.
All details low, 1024x600 res, view distance 1200. -
^^
Why do you not turn down your res, and up your graphics? -
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. -
-
Ah, I just do it through photobucket, it is faster
-
-
i may be getting this notebook if the compal hgl30s are going to be gone. For the person who is posting the CS screenshots with all those high settings, is it actually smooth and playable? I really need to know this. I don't want to make you do all this work or anything, but I was expecting to play source at medium setting settings at 1280 x 1024 with no lag. i know no if the AA and AF effects the frame rate as much as the res but if anyone else can tell me what they play on for good settings, please let me know. I will also be playing f.e.a.r and hl2
-
Oh it is EXTREAMALY smooth, If you notice my FPS
my could make the Res better if you had a different monitor. And More RAM=Better Performance.
-
F.E.A.R. However is another story, that game takes some work, I play it medium with 800X600
-
oh I didn't notice the fps at the top from fraps. so it really plays at 60-80 tops because link was only getting only getting around 40 fps. Also, how does half life 2 play on your pc?
-
Remember, IIIM3 has his GPU overclocked, so you would have to overclock to match his performance.

IN RESPONSE TO Zoomastigophora's HDR MAP QUESTION!!
2007-05-08 09:20:34 - hl2
Frames: 1270 - Time: 63839ms - Avg: 19.893 - Min: 14 - Max: 26
Pretty much was 16-18 outside and 22-24 inside.
note: first screenshot jumped down to 10 when i took screenshot for some reason, should be 16.
-
Max 26? What's the point of playing on those settings - imagine how cruddy a busy server would be....5-8fps?
Looks beautiful, but even an X200 or Go6150 could produce that quality at dreadful framerates...so again I don't really see the point? The most helpful screenshots are the ones that show the game as it runs on your everyday gaming, at acceptable levels...not at ultra quality but horrendous, impractical frames -
havok someone was curious about frame rate on De_dust (an HDR map) with the settings i showed. Its unplayable but thats ok because I don't play any HDR maps so it doesn't affect me. He just asked me what my fps was like on that map and I responded, nothing else intended...
On regular maps i get ~43 so im just fine. BTW all the screenies i posted of this card were at regular playable (30+ FPS 90% of time) settings. I even gave explanations for each of the games and postives/negatives. Im just trying to help and show pictures not show off... if we wanted showoffs they'd be in an 7950gtx sli screenshot thread.
All five games I showed have been at playable and everyday settings, and I pointed out if otherwise (the only time i did it was FEAR I did ultra high setting and said it could not handle the eye candy or even high settings) -
I dont believe were playing at the same resolution and settings. On the first page i listed everything check there.
edit:.
-
its pretty playable, but not as good as playing C&C 3...
-
Sorry link my mistake, I didn't realise the story behind those screenshots, just wandered into the thread....
And even if it was clocked to high hell there is no way an X1400 can get 128fps average on maxed out settings at that resolution!!
