Okay, heres the deal. I hope this goes here. As you know I bought the Qosmio G25. It's awesome. EXCEPT for a major thing(major to me). When I play The Sims 2, the objects look very good, but the sims clothes look horrible. It just started doing this, well I just noticed it today. I am very dissapointed! I am thinking of taking this machine back, I have to discus it with mom first. We got the circuit city visa so we can just charge another, more powerful, computer somewhere else. I'm thinking Sager 5720 for christmas. Anyways, I'm just really confused and don't know what to do. I would extremely appreciate your input. Surely the 7800GTX could handle this game. This machine handles it very well, I just don't want their clothes to look like they do. Please help me!

Well Dellguy, could you post a screenshot for us? That would be helpful.
Make sure the textures are set up all the way. Have you tried it at different settings?
Oh BTW I'm moving this to gaming - since this is a game-related question. -
ok, I'm updating the drivers to the 81.94, that may help coming from the 7X.X. We'll just have to see what happens lol.
-
didnt work..oh joy! lol
-
Can you post a screen shot of it please?
-
Run the Toshiba Software Upgrades. I know you've updated some drivers, but its worth a shot
-
I just talked to him and he said it only does it sometimes and when i told him to take a pic of the screen he said it wasnt doing it so i dont know either.
-
i say reinstall The Sims 2, your computer should own that game
-
Haha I got a chuckle out of that opening line - "Mom, I desperately need to return my laptop as soon as possible because my Sims' clothes horrible!"
But I do understand what you're upset about. Unfortunately, I'm not a techie -
That really sounds like a driver or game issue. I am not familiar with the sims, but are there patches for it that might fix graphics issue?
I don't think this is worth a return, I am almost sure you can resolve the issue, since it seems software related, UNLESS, you don't like the qosmio! -
i downloaded the patches for the game, didn't work. I don't know how to updat my video drivers. I can get them downloaded, I just dont know how to get them to work with the INF file thing. Anybody know how to apply a driver?
-
yes. First go to your control panel and go to "add/remove programs." Find the file that says "Nvidia drivers" or something similiar to that and delete them, it will ask you to reboot and do so. Don't panic when your desktop looks really pixalted and crappy this is normal. Next go to laptopvideo2go.com and download the driver file for example "81.95", then save it to a location such as your desktop for easy access. To the right of the 81.95 will be a hyperlink that says INF. Don't click on the INF. Right click on the INF and click "save target as" then save it to your desktop. Once both have downloaded you will probably have to extract the 81.95 file but windows rar will take care of that and my suggestion is to create a new file (by right clicking and selecting "create new" and then selecting "folder") in the desktop and extract it there. Once you have extracted the files into your new file, simply drag the INF you saved to your desktop into the extracted driver files. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the current INF file in the driver file but just click yes. The install will now work and during installation it will give you a message saying "Are you sure you want to install this driver, it's not confirmed by windows blah blah blah"). Just click yes. There you go, restart and you will have newly updated drivers. The prob has nothing to do with your videocard, the geforce 6600 go is an excellent card, and should be kicking that games ass, have you tried adjusting the color settings in the options menu, such as the contrast, brightness, etc? Just update the drivers and everything should be fine. Good luck.

Be aware if you take it back to Circuit City they are probably going to try and charge you a restocking fee if you don't exchange for the same notebook.
-
have you updated the drivers like that and you're sure it works?
-
when i go to add/remove programs it says when i try to unistall it says this will premanently remove the system registry stuff. Do I proced with uninstall.

-
