So, the PSX game Chrono Cross was a fave of mine, and I would like to play it again on my pc... the problem is, I cant find a "working" psx emulator for that game.

any one know of a Chrono Cross friendly emulator? Help me Obi-One, you are my only hope!

Try Epsxe 1.70 along with ePSXeCutor frontend V 1.0.6.3 or play the Snes version using Snes9x or Zsnes.

    What plugins are you using?

Also, try google. I was able to find 5 threads directly talking about epsxe and chrono cross on the first page.

The best emulator to play Chrono Cross on is PSXeven, its an old emulator which can play CC fully without any problems.

could always try out pSX (basically a psx emulator without plugins and stuff.

'course it'll look like a ps1 game but still)

search around google about PSXeven, or pm Xeven here in the forum, he's the developer of the emulator. :D Although I believe searching will do, as I got it that way a few years ago.

You might also want a Frontend for PSXeven.

As far as I know, version 0.19 is the latest.

Hmm, my friend had it running just fine a few years ago on a fairly weak computer, I think he was using ePSXe 1.52 or 1.60. In my little psx emulation experience, some games run better on the older editions. As for plugins, there are a lot of little tweaks within them that can take a game from unplayable to perfect with a few clicks. I would suggest you check an emulation-specific forum for advice on which plugins and settings to use, I think NGEmu was pretty good when I last checked.

Or, as MagusDraco suggested, you could try PSX - it's not as pretty as the other emulators, which tend to improve the graphics beyond the limitations of the original PSX, but it's a lot simpler and often works where others fail.

Every plugin? For video and audio? There's more than 6. Pete's OGL2 set to best performance should work. I just tried it, and I don't get the crash you're experiencing.

    ePSXe 1.7.0
    Pete's OGL2 2.9
    Eternal lite SPU

Mind you I haven't played through the whole thing, I beat it on my actual PSX a long time ago. I just archived all my PSX and PS2 games when I moved out of Canada.
