hi everyone
sorry for creating a whole new topic, but i've been trying to play some old games on my core 2 duo machine and i'm pissed. I play starcraft and worms world party A LOT, and i know those games run on virtually any computer. But the strange thing is, when i run starcraft and try to record with FRAPS, it lags horribly, as starcraft takes up 100% CPU power!!! Today i download Worms world party, and it's even worse!!! The game ran smoothly on my Celeron-based desktop, but now on Core 2 duo, it's like 8fps!!!
Anyone know what happens and how to fix it, i like those games so badly
Thanks in advance

Hi.
we need to know what machine you have, you can have the fastest cpu in the work but if you have an crappyGPU no pun intended.
what graphics card or gpu do you have.

ehm..
Maybe it could be because the games are so old, your machine turns down CPU power because it thinks it can handle it at lower clock, which it then can't.
Try using a program to speed up the CPU.
Although the games are so old, they should be able to run even if your CPU was running 300mhz...
It could be because the games are so old and your computer is so pwnz, that the games lag because your system is too gr8 for them..
The games were designed for the new super uber voodoo grapchics card with stunning 4mb ram and a system with 16mb blazing fast RAM, and a Pentium processor running at 133mhz.
That could MAYBE be the problem, I'm not sure. -
well, i have a Merom T5600, Go7600, 1 GB RAM, i've tried to monitor CPU throttle during playing, always either 50% or 100%. Worms world party actually uses the engine of Worms released in 1995, requirements: 32Mb RAM, 4Mb video card, 100Mhz CPU

Try setting only one affinity to the game and see if that changes anything. There used to be a problem like that for cs 1.6 before they updated it.
Old games lag to hell on Core 2 duo ???
