Pretty much all DOS games. They're awesome.![]()

anyone played alleycat before?
-
I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but you'd be suprised with the selection Steam is building up! For $5-10 (and a few select fifteen dollar titles) you can get quite a pick of games, including favorites like Knights of The Old Republic. I'd have to say the Jedi Academy series is excellent if you're at all a Star Wars fan, also Republic Commando isn't bad!
Tropico is a pretty entertaining RTS series, Age of Empires 2 (back when it was good, as my friend Kyle says) is a classic, and why not brush up on your hack and slash skills with Diablo 2 and it's Expansion? -
C&C Red Alert 2!

Oohhh good call, I love replaying the Max Payne series, still kinda wish Max Payne 3 was in the hands of Sam Lake and friends
Yeah I just noticed recently they had KoToR up, I might have to pick that up, and also one of the older fallouts that I just got on GoG >< ahh well, and yeah I loved the Jedi Knight/Academy series, loved the battles in those. I used to have several saves where I was about to fight a whole bunch of siths (and I'll pick a fight with the good jedi's also occasionally) just to do some quick awesome saber fights. I still LAN with a buddy of mine every once in a while and duke it out -
Lethal Lottery Notebook Betrayer
Mafia, Halo, Rise of Nations, Risk 2, Infact I guess I mostly play "old" games.
-
A game which just came into my mind is Timesplitters.
It's really addicting and I play it a lot with my friends when we have nothing better do to. -
lol i dint know there was a max payne 3 coming up!! just checked the wiki...seems like its gonna be quite different from the others.
hope the requirements wont be too high for me to play it. -
Oooh I've just installed the oldest game this thread has seen : X-wing
It's a flight combat simulator in a Star Wars theme and it was released in 1994 in Dos. I used to play that back when I was like 4 or 5 years old and loved it. But yeah the graphics in my souvenirs weren't exactly identical to what I saw yesterday when installing it
The music is pretty epic too lol
-
I love older RPGs too... speaking of Might and Magic... I have Might and Magic 1 through 9 that I bundled all up into a single app ported over to Mac OS X, and have played back through most of them so far. for MM6 I liked the more spell casting classes somewhat too, but bows are awesome in that one, a bit too overpowered I think.
-
not anymore... Might and Magic 1 is 1986

I hate you xD

Nice! I bought the 1-6 package, I've never played 1-5 before. Do you know where I can get 7-8? After playing 6 for a bit, I realized 7 was the one I was thinking of. And yeah, first thing I did was get bow skills and slap on some bows on my guys. Then it's just enter turn-based so monster stopped dodging, and shoot away
But now I'm fighting werewolves and higher level guys and my bows aren't doing damage fast enough to kill them off before they get into melee range in dungeons. But that's why I have my casters

Medieval: Total War - Viking Invasion
-
That's a fun game! It has a certain "Runescape feeling" about it but I just love this game.
I haven't played it for a while, it might be time to do so.
-
I guess it will have to come down to what month in '86. I recently have been playing another fave classic of mine, Starflight (1986). I have to run an emulation since I don't have a 5.25" floppy drive anymore. But I still have all the diskettes, packaging, and code wheel!
-
Not quiet 1986 old but...system shock 2.

I dunno, I've passed out my Mac port a few times, but its large and might be hard to extract out the Win versions inside... I got them cuz I have the original disks from all 9
ooo i forgot about Starflight..... i actually got starflight 1 and 2.. I havent played those in awhile, i need to check them out again.
couple of my other old DOS favorites are Wing Commander 1 and 2 -
Red Alert 2 is the best of the Red Alert series, I find myself playing this every once in a while since it can be played well with a touchpad.
Another few old-ish games I play every once in a while is the half-life 1 series. -

- Half Life 1:
Every time I play this I regret not having had it back in 1998
. - Perfect Dark:
The spiritual successor to Goldeneye on the N64, and it makes many improvements.
. - Halo 1:
I'm a Halo fanboy, and I love that music that plays when your storming the beach on the Silent Cartographer.
. - FFX/FFX-2:
They're not that old yet, but I just recently got around to doing my first new game+ in FFX-2, and have been playing some blitzball in FFX.
. - Starcraft/WC3:
Every now and then I jump on Bnet and play a few rounds of OMFG THE ZERGLINGS! or some crazy UMS map like that. They also run well off my flash drive and run on crappy PCs.
- Half Life 1:
Old games that you find yourself replaying
