Depends how extensive the games are, Im a big fan of starcraft... I dont think Blizzard will fail on this but I hate installing a lot of games on my computer but if starcraft makes each game big and good enough to justify 3 separate games I will support them!

14.99 might seem low for a z0mgish long awaited game..

max threshold on price I'd support is $20 or $25 each...
    else?

Looking at it, it makes them seem greedy just because of what they said. They claim it's because the game is so large, but this is a PC game we're talking about, there are no limits enforced by any company that limits the size of thier game.

They should just come out and say it's because they spent alot of money on this game engine, and want to make sure they turn a profit even through all the unstoppable piracy. If they don't turn a profit on the first game, then the 2nd and third will. It gives them a reason to make the $120 or so they're probebly going to be going after from this single game. I also don't think they would be stupid and split up the multiplayer, it will probebly either come in each version of the game, and link up to the same servers with the same maps, or they will make one of the games the full game and the others expansions. Regaurdless, all games will still have all races, that's obvious.

If they could fit all maps, all races and all those other things for multiplayer on to every game, they should be able to put it all into one single game as well imo, unless there is a helluva lot of video/audio stuff on it...

My guess is they want them to be "console" friendly as well...

Didn't say I would...but that doesn't mean Blizzard doesn't want to capture the console crowd. There's been a few strategy games released now on X-Box 360/PS3 and I'm sure Blizzard wants their market share of that market.

They could easily set it up for console vs console only, and there are stand alone components there as well. With the hard drives in the consoles now, there is no longer an issue with downloading new maps either.

The one strategy game I've played on console I didn't play much because it was to slow to me using the pad for movement, unit selection, etc. But that doesn't mean others would mind it.

Is this confirmed definatly splitting into 3 games? We will get them all at the same time, or will they attack in echelon?

It's definately splitting into 3 games, here's the talky talk from Blizzcon 08:

    http://pc.ign.com/articles/918/918895p1.html

For those that can't see IGN at work I'll paste the all important timeline:

We asked about the timeline for the three StarCraft II games, using Valve's original prediction of shipping all three episodes of the Half-Life 2 episodes within a single year, but reality is that it will take more than more like three years. Pardo thought that was a great example and said, "It's a little bit similar to that in that it would be great if we could have them follow one year from one another; I think that's going to be our target, but certainly that's not a promise in any way. But I think that's going to be around the realm that we're going to be hoping for."
