I finally decided to try gaming on my new Asus. Having just sold my Sager 5720, I was under no illusions that the V6Va could perform at even 35% as well in games. So, I got the wild idea of loading Diablo 2, the game that got me hooked on PC gaming. I haven't played D2 since 2000, but still had my old saved games on a backup CD.

After installing everything, I began playing and was immediately re-immersed in the game. It felt so good to once again lose myself in that world, slaying demons, monsters, Mephisto, Diablo and Baal. I must've played for 6-7 hours straight. Good thing that Tuesday is a holiday. :p

D2 is six years old, so there was no concern about over-stressing my notebook. Still the graphics looked good, despite their age. What really hooked me, though, was the storyline and how easily I took to the game after not playing it for nearly six years.

For those of you who've never experienced Diablo 1 & 2, you oughtta give them a try. I'm definitely hoping against hope that the gang at Blizzard dusts off the cobwebs and builds a Diablo 3 using today's technology. What a blast that would be!!!

I have not played Diablo but Warcraft 2 I think was one of the best games of all time. But since it's also Blizzard I'll have to try it after I get my MacBook. My all time top 5...

    1. Resident Evil 4
    2. Metal Gear Solid 2
    3. Super Mario Bros. (the first one on NES)
    4. Tetris
    5. Warcraft 2

Honorable mention: Super Metroid, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tecmo Super Bowl, Mortal Kombat 2, to name a few.

Metal Gear Solid 2 ftw. Hands down the greatest game I've ever played, with Metal Gear Solid in a very close 2nd. I actually preferred the sotry of MGS1, but the gameplay of MGS2 was what clenched it for me. I must have played it 15 times through now.

I think it's funny playing old games on a new machine. It's such a difference in graphics. I just loaded up Halo on my M90, and the graphics are soooo different than they were on my old C640. I never knew this game had these kinds of visuals.

Im playing Return to Castle Wolfenstien atm and its at max details, AA,AF, trilinear, 32bit whatever and it runs awsome. My desktop back then when i had it couldnt even do that.

Its funny how playing these old classics in max details now breathes whole new life into them. Just think, ill be posting in the future and saying..."yeah took out that old game Oblivion the other day and ran it at max settings. Its funny how playing these old classics in max details now breathes whole new life into them." lol! :D

When you run that game on the highest options, for a five year old game, it still looks amazing, especially in the early sections when you're escaping the castle...
