Hey guys, I was wondering how good the new Omega 6.9 was. Does it offer better performance than the catalyst 6.8?
Thanks in advance

Omegas got me 40 less 3dMark05s, but are a lot more stable in the Battlefield 2142 demo.

Who cares about a loss of 40 3DMark points? 3DMark doesnt mean anything when it comes to real world gaming. Omegas boost the FPS in most games you play. They're the best driver choice for ATI cards.

So I heard that 6.9 catalysts are worse that catalyst 6.8. Would that mean the same thing for Omegas? That 6.9 Omegas are just crap?
-
I know that the 6.9's, like all catalysts since the 6.4's, have been making it dificult to overclock. Other than that I havent been keeping up much with the Catalyst release. Its just the Omegas have tweaks that provide improved gaming performance, even if you do loose some 3Dmarks.

Hi Vampire,
I can overclock 6.8 and 6.9 with a new Ati tray tool - works like before 6.4! Even latencies.

Well with Omegas 6.9 I noticed more stable FPS in games. Thats good.

And as we already are talking about 6.8 and 6.9 - I got 3195 3dmark05 (my personal best) with x700 128MB DDR with 6.8 and at rock (for gaming) stable 413/432 and latencies set.
6.9 is a bit slower and I saw some glitches, so I went back to 6.8 (smooth 3dmark animation).
6.8 seems to be OK, considering the fact that I can finally use ATT profiles again.
Cheers,
Ivan
