not into an exe(extract exe with a winrar or something, then put a modded inf from laptopvideo2go into that folder - it will override the one already in there, then just do the have-disk method)

get the inf for 169.25 vista here - http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16545

Can't wait for benchs :) Saw the Omega 169.28 on Guru3D but didn't DL them. Aren't they just the same as www.tweakforce.com ? I mean, they make so tiny changes that maybe affect 1 fps

Are these 'Omega' drivers any better than stock drivers from L2G?

They claim to be better, and they WERE better in the past! But don't know about the new drivers, especially for vista. I'm waiting for benchs ;)

Ahh. Thanks for the info! No wonder so many people were happy to see these drivers back again. I'll wait for some benchmarks first before I download them.

wouldn't using l2g inf file override any tweaks that the omega drivers already have?

Yes, most of the tweaks are in the inf files, so using the l2tg inf will waste most of the tweaks indeed.

didn't think about that one. u can just insert those mobility lines from the l2g inf file into the omega ones then

I'll try out the 169.21 XP's on my laptop.

I'll just paste my two 8400M GS lines in and give them a whirl.

Can do 3dMark05/06 and Half-Life: Lost Coast.

Maybe I'll install FEAR or something too for another benchie.

    EDIT:
After pasting the two lines from my 8400M GS in the drivers recognize the hardware but won't install anything. It just says the system hasn't been modified.

I've never been able to figure this out with previous drivers, does anyone know how to make them install?

    not yet
but the drivers released now (after 169.04) didn't show improvements on benchmark. however, i did hear some people say some drivers improve the game performance. so if you are not having any problems at all, then stay with current driver you have.

Omega 169.25 installed on my hp dv2533tx. I had to modify the inf to include the mobile tweaks such as powermiser and brightness control. And to include my graphics 8400m. To do that I just copy and pasted the support list from my orignal inf (hp one). And copyed the relevant mobile tweaks.

There wasnt much of a performance boost. May be due to me changing some settings to laptop things. It seemed to smooth out bioshock, and cod4 was better. It also autoset much higher couldnt run at it though. Playing at my normal settings I saw fps over 100 indoors, and never got anywhere near as low as before so its good for cod4. I was using 169.28.
