hey guys
Angel Trinidad, the maker of omegadrivers has released Forceware drivers for Nvidia cards for both xp and vista 32 . These drivers are based on (Forceware 169.25). to Download go to www.omegadrivers.net
has anyone tried these drivers yet if so how are they like ?
-
-
change the link to omegadrivers.net
and i think it says 169.21, at least for XP
http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia_winxp.php
haven't' tried em yet -
it better fix the vista hang up. i am getting video dumps most of time.
-
dude, someone777, try em out for us would u, seeing how ur situation turns out to be lol i'll rep u(little bribe)
hahaha
-
Do they work for notebooks? He says clearly "these do not work for laptops".
-
i bet u can use l2g's modded inf and u're good to go
-
i guess i have to try it out
just dled 196.28 but ill try the omega -
i wouldn't mess with .28's...try out omega's first, using the inf from l2g
-
wait which inf and how do i put it into the exe file?
-
not into an exe(extract exe with a winrar or something, then put a modded inf from laptopvideo2go into that folder - it will override the one already in there, then just do the have-disk method)
get the inf for 169.25 vista here - http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16545 -
op got it
ill be back soon with the bench results -
may god be with u
-
okay i got 3dmark06 points
it is: 3097 or 3000 (estimated)
looks same to me with 169.09 (got 3099) i guess i somehow ramdomly got 3400. now for the ocing. by the way big v, you want anything to be tested over this like specific games? -
it's up to u, u want to - do it
thanx a lot, man.
p.s. i'll rep u some time tom. - ran out of reps, believe it or not lol -
ill just do it for help
i mean i am going to play game tomorrow
hehe
i ll just have to make a new thread about it -
Can you do me a favour and do me some synthetic bench and some actual bench
for actual bench can you do the following crysis, everquest, and hard shaders games ? -
:O sry about this but i don;t have crysis or everquest.
what do you mean by hard shaders games?
doom3? bf2? -
yea thats fine =) i just want to see the comparison between stock and the modified drivers.
-
Can't wait for benchs
Saw the Omega 169.28 on Guru3D but didn't DL them. Aren't they just the same as
www.tweakforce.com ? I mean, they make so tiny changes that maybe affect 1 fps
-
Are these 'Omega' drivers any better than stock drivers from L2G?
-
They claim to be better, and they WERE better in the past! But don't know about the new drivers, especially for vista. I'm waiting for benchs
-
Ahh. Thanks for the info! No wonder so many people were happy to see these drivers back again. I'll wait for some benchmarks first before I download them.
-
wouldn't using l2g inf file override any tweaks that the omega drivers already have?
-
Yes, most of the tweaks are in the inf files, so using the l2tg inf will waste most of the tweaks indeed.
-
didn't think about that one. u can just insert those mobility lines from the l2g inf file into the omega ones then
-
anyone have gaming benchmarks for these drivers?
-
I'll try out the 169.21 XP's on my laptop.
I'll just paste my two 8400M GS lines in and give them a whirl.
Can do 3dMark05/06 and Half-Life: Lost Coast.
Maybe I'll install FEAR or something too for another benchie.
EDIT:
After pasting the two lines from my 8400M GS in the drivers recognize the hardware but won't install anything. It just says the system hasn't been modified.
I've never been able to figure this out with previous drivers, does anyone know how to make them install? -
tried 169.21's and was very impressed. cod4 ran like crap on 169.04, very slow. playing a lot better now! here's the modded inf of 169.21 for XP - http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/32521/nv4-disp-inf.html
-
ill be posting results by tomorrow
little busy today.
it would include:
quake 4
battlefield 2
half life 2
company of heroes
3dbench06 (i already posted it i believe) -
did u see any improvement, cux 169.21's seem to work rather well fro me so far
-
not yet
but the drivers released now (after 169.04) didn't show improvements on benchmark. however, i did hear some people say some drivers improve the game performance. so if you are not having any problems at all, then stay with current driver you have. -
I used Omega's for years on my old laptop, always loved them. WTB Omegas for Vista 32 + ATI though
-
Omega 169.25 installed on my hp dv2533tx. I had to modify the inf to include the mobile tweaks such as powermiser and brightness control. And to include my graphics 8400m. To do that I just copy and pasted the support list from my orignal inf (hp one). And copyed the relevant mobile tweaks.
-
sounds good, But i think the next release he is doing will work with mobile GPU' without mod so i am hoping for that
-
There wasnt much of a performance boost. May be due to me changing some settings to laptop things. It seemed to smooth out bioshock, and cod4 was better. It also autoset much higher couldnt run at it though. Playing at my normal settings I saw fps over 100 indoors, and never got anywhere near as low as before so its good for cod4. I was using 169.28.
