    Omega driver issue

    As soon as I installed a radeon omega driver 2.6.83 (catalyst 5.11) I've got a problem
    error reporter said: ati2dvag can't restore full display functionality
    Does everyone have the same issue?
    I plan to uninstall it,,and What is the best driver for Mobility 9700

    It is highly recommended to only use the drivers released by your notebook manufacturer, unless you have upgraded your graphics card. Any other drivers are likely to cause performance issues.

    well, actually i recommend not using omega/dna drivers for notebooks at all, although they might work.. i'd recommend you uninstalling every gpu driver you have got on your system and then download the latest 5.12 catalyst, but unfortunately the original drivers have a software limitation so they only install on a few notebooks - although they would work perfectly... but luckly i have got a driver modded that installs on every notebook - you can download it here: http://www.cell-profiler.de/gamebooks/viewtopic.php?p=21#21
    make sure you have uninstall every ati/dna/omega driver before installing this one

    no problem.. if you have any more questions specific to notebook graphiccards, overclocking, benchmarking or gaming feel free to register and post in the gamebooks forum.. it has not gone live yet as we're still filling the launch content and we're waiting for a few things like a dns entry at our host for thegamebooks.com - but as i said feel free to register and post - it would also be helpful to get some content up.
