Has anyone ever tried them out ?

i always used to use the tweaked omega drivers when i had ati, but not used them yet on this laptop, but i had to uninstall the 174.31 which were awful in game performance, so i decided to chek out omega

i downloaded the omega 169.25 vista 32 drivers

    http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia.php

,and the set up didnt work, i put the 169.28 (closest to 169.25 i could find) modded inf from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

, and put the replaced the omega inf, and used the have disk methid and it installed fine

i just got 10 points less in 3d mark than with the 174.31, and ive just had a little go in a couple of games with good results and things were smooth, certainly far better than the 174.31 i tried earlier, il do some proper longer testing tomorrow and report back !

give them a try with this method and inf if you have time and never tried them and report back with your findings !!!!!

yup, omegas are pretty nice, using 169.21's for xp myself. was looking for a better one, but stick around with O's for a bit.

i don't get the deal with ALL these drivers.

i use DNA-drivers. the latest one is based on a driver that came out nearly 7 months ago.. and performs better than the latest nvidia driver. if a driver works... just use it. you don't need new drivers every three weeks, there is no difference between them

and... all the benchmark programs are scaled so that you can see changes. 10 points... even 50-100 points... is in reality... pretty much no performance difference.

Wouldn't overwritng that ini file nullify any optimization or improvements that the Omega team could've done?

i dont know ? im no extert ! but the omegas wont install until i tried that, but the tiny inf file doesnt contain much info , so using the inf from the 169.28 , wouldnt install 169.28 drivers would it , and they installed ok and gave good performance, i thought the inf is just to get drivers to recognice your laptop card ?

jcovelli ...i do agree with you we shouldnt need to change drivers every few days, but why do they release them alll the time ?? why ...because we are forever in persuit of getting the maximum and bets performance out of our cards/machines and games, and some drivers do deliver nicer looking graphics, just a shame what 1 driver does good another doesnt but does something else better

all i want is a really great driver that im perfectly happy with for all my games, but i find one thats great with some games, then try another game after not playing it fora week or 2,and theres issues

its crazy realy, dell have not gave a ew driver in ages on their official site and section for my 1720 either
