the main problem is that you are renting the games at full price. the full purchases are an extended rental, you won't be able to play any of the games you buy today 4-5 years from now, and you won't get refunded or anything.
well, that's one problem, possibly not the main problem. -
hmm AHHHH i'm emailing them about it

I thought they're implementing a flat-rate subscription fee that lets OnLive console owners play any available game? And that only people who use OnLive on their PC have to pay retail price for an intangible game "rental". Correct me if I'm wrong please, as I might have just misread.

) I also had a PS3 but then I sold it since my younger brother would hog the TV with the 360
and Onlive right now is like 75% cheaper than both the other consoles. And I see a big potential in OnLive in the later future.
-
Oh well just purchased it 75.99 including tax + Fedex 2 day shipping and Free game coupon
I just couldn't resist the 33% off and I've been wanting to try this out for awhile now. And I'm sure the service will improve if more people starts supporting the new system

the 9.99 a month is for old games only.

all their offerings are available on all supported devices. the $10 back catalog subscription thing doesn't require their console.
onlive in a nutshell:
- use their ~$100 console or any computer, doesn't matter. if you already have a computer you can connect to your TV, then the console is redundant.
- pay $10 / month ($120 / year) to play the onlive back-catalog (not new releases)
OR
- pay full price for extended game rentals
---
you do not need a powerful PC, but you do need an extremely fast internet connection, and there will be lag and intermittent control / audio / video problems if you have any type of lag spike. the quality you get is comparable to a <$100 graphics card on tacked onto a mainstream pc. -
I sure hope you tested their OnLive PC version to see if your network was up to the task. I have 3.2mb service here and that definitely doesn't cut it, I couldn't even get standard def streams without getting kicked out of their network.

Heh, with Steam sales, GFWL sales, GOG sales, Direct2Drive sales, Amazon sales... + Laptop that you ALREADY OWN, via HDMI to TV. Hmm... OnLive is awesome because?
