OnLive is a new service coming out in winter09, they claim to be able to beam games to your TV, PC or Mac with any hardware, thats means rock bottom as well.
The idea is that you play a game, they have their servers run the game for you and send you the video for it. All you really need is a high speed internet connection for the game to stream to your computer. Fantastic idea, what kind of impact do you think it will make?
I personaly think that gaming computers will survive, I know that I would still buy them, I need better-than-average hardware to run the software that I like. What about other people though? Would it be hackable? Do you think there will be a catch, besides the need for an internet connection?

This is gonna change cloud computing and gaming. I mean imagine a shabby, netbook playing something heavy as Crysis.

Yeah, but a catch for the company is IF they can get games like Crysis to partner with them.

No because the point is the resoultion only goes up to 720p and thats on an incredible internet connection... Plus were seeing more and more upgradeability in laptops, not to mention people like making their own computers, and playing games on the go or in a place with no internet.
Not to mention the developer of on live said the only purpose of it was to introduce new people to gaming (IE people who dont have a 360, ps3 or gaming pc).... I can't state all the reasons but I'm just saying no way no how -
