i was looking on the internet today and i saw about the new onlive service which has been announced.

in a way i think this is a really good idea that games will be able to be streamed over the interenet so people can play the newest games on any system but in a way im a bit annoyed that i went out and bought a laptop which could handle todays games about 6 months ago and now i fing out that new hardware will soon be irrelevant :(

I don't see how they can do what they're claiming without a massive improvement in the US's internet infrastructure.

Onlive is technically possible, but highly unlike to ever be practical in the US with the low bandwidth we have now. Maybe in Japane or Europe, but not here. You are talking about steaming gamepley HD video to your PC/TV while sending commands from your end, my VOIP phone has enough problems with a couple of torrents and downloads going.

Not saying I'm not gonna try it, if it ever does get released, I'll probably be one of the first in the preorder line, cause if this succeeds, we are talking about never having to buy a new console ever again.
