i just ran a 3dmark 06 test, and all the graphics tests ran at about 3-8 fps and the cpu test ran at 0-1 fps...i have the latest drivers (163.44) with a 8600m gt, c2d @2.0 ghz, vista home basic, and 2 gb of ram...what am i
    doing wrong, i thought a 8600 should be in the low/mid 3000 3dmark range

    thanks in advance,

Bad video card? Run it again with most processes turned off, make sure you're not using the wrong resolution.

Buddy... Tell us the resolution. Resolutions matter, you know?

    There's a significant difference betwenn 3DMark score under 1280x800 and 1600x1050...

Powermizer turned off? even at 1680*1050 you should get over 3000 with that card.

Idk it's always happened to me too on every computer I've ran 3dmark on...guess it's just straining for the CPU to render all of that stuff by itself.

    How's in-game performance?

Personally, I think 3DMark is a way to get people to get bent out of shape about their computer's performance so they buy more stuff.

If you have an asus g1s-a1, look up the battery & CPU issue.

It gives you 1800pts for it so it's okay.

My Sempron gets .5 fps too but has a 400pt score

Yea...3dmark is really weird on my laptop too.

Running 3dmark05 1280x800 and am only getting 2100 or so points...

Yet when I run the CS:S stress test (1280x800 all high, no AF/AA) I average 100fps.
