    OpenGL error 8600M GT

    Hi,

    i've installed wolfenstein enemy territory and when i try to start i get this error message:

    "GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem"

    i have intstalled the 165.01 driver (latest) for the 8600m gt. what should i do to solve this problem?

    Those are not the latest drivers. They are quite old. The latest is the 163 series. What site are you using? If its laptopvideo2go.com , go to their website and click date until it arranges it down from 163 series. Those at the top are the latest drivers. Try one of those.

    quick question,

    What is the difference if you download the drivers from nvidia's website or from laptopvideo2go website?

    the one on laptop2go contains the modified .inf file that is requiered to let the driver pack installs on the mobile version of the card :)

    So the driver on nvidia's website can't?

    Nvidia doesn't release drivers frequently, they are very slow to do so because they need to work a long time to fix several bugs in one release. But they have to have drivers ready for new computers, they just release the newly improved ones, which may have one bug fix at a time, etc. Since the drivers are suppose to be for that specific computer, files need to be tweaked so the driver would work on other computers with the same GPU, which is what the modded .inf does. Hope that made sense.
