I wanted to start a thread for everyone to add notes on optimization and/or problems.
I have now played it for two days and here is what I have found. As in many other games, the game settings that are recommended may not be the best that you can play at. I actually GAINED FPS when I enabled MSAA x4 and AF x 4 vs None and Trilinear. Again, gained FPS. Now, I did not gain fps under every environment. I gained fps on night missions particularly. I noticed also that OC my cpu didn't make too much of a difference. I went from 2.4 duo to 2.7 duo and got mayb 2 or 3 fps. Not much. I can't OC the GPU's so I have no idea on that. Like most games I think this will require some driver upgrades from both Nvidia and ATI. It is very playable at many levels and I think it looks great. (Call me easily satisfied)
Crossfire optimization is minimal. Here is how I can tell. I play at 1900x1200, everything on high, shadows at 2048, msaa4 and af4. When I play with only 1 gpu I get about 25 to 30 fps in the 2nd mission (night) on the campaign. Then it drops to about 22 or so when the convey comes. It also drops about 10 - 15 fps when you look through the sniper or night scope. Codemasters needs to work on this BIGTIME!!! Now, before I utilized aa and af I would enable Xfire and get only about 3 more fps in the very same settings. Meaning I would start the mission around 35 to 40. It would dip to about 25 when the convey would pass. Then stay aroud 25-30 max for rest of mission unless I utilized scope and then it would take a DIP!
So to recap this long winded post....
1. Try all the settings before settling on one.
2. Try different missions before deciding on a graphic setting.
3. CPU oc didn't make too much of a difference (300mhz)
4. Crossfire also did not make too much of a difference until AA and AF were anabled.
5. The game is FUN SO FAR!!!!!
I look forward to the patches. Best Wishes, Stevenx

Well mine runs really good maxed out 1920x1200 SLI enabled though. Make a crossfire profile for it. I had to make a SLI profile for mine and mine never drops below 35 fps. I am usually at 40-55 fps at 1920x1200 on my XPS M1730.

Magnus, I am sorry, I dont understand. What do you mean by make a profile for it? Where would I create this profile? What difference does a profile make? Meaning how does the profile change the interpretation of the of driver to the game or vice versa? Thanks for your input! I always appreciate feedback.

I dont think this game really needs an optimization. It runs great with maximum FPS. Its the ARMA 2 which requires optimization. Better open a thread on that.

Yeah, You're right, the requirements are quite reasonable and I am very happy about it.
But U see... Between 8800GTX SLI and 3870 CSX there is on average about 10 fps difference in nVidia favour. So, when Magnus is getting about 35-45 fps, then Stevens fps of 25-30 should be correct.
@stevenxowens792
Thanks for Your info, Steve. I Think Magnus refers to game profiles that are being created automaticly in nVidia control panel, whenever You install any 3D application, which are modificable.
I like to play games maxed with 40 fps "smoothnes", so OPFDR is a no go for me at the moment. I will give the demo a try when it's out.
Cheers

I must say that this game is really really optimized. I was shocked that this game plays well everything maxed out. But personally, I didnot liked the game that much. It was quite boring for me.
