    Hi,
    I searched a lot on the internet for optimized drivers for my 9800M GTS but couldn't find any updated ones. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit

    The latest one is MobileForce 190.38 (Aug 7th 2009) but they are also beta testing 195.62

    The other one is DOX's Forceware 185.85 (17th May 2009) but it has this scaling issue where you have to select the screen resolution before launching the game

    Which of these would be better? If there are any others, then please suggest

    Thank you

    I think the best drivers are going to be either 186.81 or 186.82.

    Yes, the official ones. Should be available from either NVIDIA's site or from www.laptopvideo2go.com.

    And just because I'm running an ATI card it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

    BTW, I'm running 195.62 on an NVIDIA based desktop.

    Why do you need optimized drivers? Those ones you are using are already pretty good. Some of the best drivers out there. A lot of NVIDIA owners swear by them.

    You could always give Dox optimised 195.62 a try but I wouldn't expect them to be better than 186.81. I will try these out later just to see anyway.

    why doesn't it work good enough for me :s

    by the way, I know how some people don'y rely on 3D Mark but I just benched the following:

    195.62 (nVidia) = 8608
    195.62 (DOX) = 8562
    186.81 = 8565
    186.82 = 8562

    difference of 40 marks doesn't mean much to me because the framerates on all demos were similar give or take 1

    and massey, I have Gateway 7803H-CA! with Win 7 x64

    should I just turn back to the official ones? but there was no AA

    is it true that optimized drivers disable AA and AF?

    I'm gonna roll with everyone else in this thread, and recommend 186.81.

    I used the 195.XX drivers for a while, but it had some compatability issues with some of my applications, so I'm back on the ol'd trusty 186.81 :)

    hmm, well I am not too happy with 186.81...Maybe this is more related to personal preference than general opinion..

    I'll wait for Dox's new update now, if that isn't an improvement for me then 195.62 official would be my option

    The 3DMark scores you posted are right where they should be. You're going to get performance drops at times, remember that card is really just a desktop 9600GT.

    As for aero, that's probably powermizer kicking in, it effects flash playback too sometimes.

    key, from what I've read those tweakforce guys don't know much and they don't have the kind of experience DOX has...anyway, right now I'm using 195.62 DOX 1.0 and it's working fine but I think i'll install 195.62 official again soon
