It's probably not upgradeable. If it's a removable card, Toshiba has been know to use a proprietary interface which is not compatible with MXM types. Your card is not that bad, although it is on the lower end for the latest 3d games. You should be able to run most new games at lower settings and resolutions. If it becomes an issue, then I suppose a new rig is in order if you really need portable gaming. Otherwise, a gaming desktop will have a better performance-price ratio than a gaming laptop.

It's better than the 8600m GT, according to notebookcheck.net. So you should be able to play games over two years old and older with medium settings maybe some high. Heck I played Crysis on my Vostro 1500 with an 8600m GT with settings at combination of low/medium and 1280x800 without a problem (read 20+ fps). It's fairly respectable if you don't mind dropping settings to low. Heck you might be able to overclock it a bit to help matters.

Yeah its definitely respectable... was just curious about my options.

I think this is a fairly new model so maybe I'll wait for some more info to surface

I highly suggest the Alienware M11X for your mobile gaming needs! Have fun with it!

Doesn't look like you have an expresscard slot.

You probably have an accessible wifi slot via the backside covers that can be used for a mPCIe DIY ViDock implementation using a PM3N. The PM3N can be used in half or full height mPCIe slots. I'd suggest use a GTX460 to be released on July 12th for the implementation.

As in pulling out my wifi card to put in the PM3N?

I'll have to look into that

Yes. I am using a PE4L+PM3N with my 2510P since has no expresscard slot. A Lenovo Lenovo x61 owner doing the same since also wasn't provided with an expresscard slot.

Looks like my Wi-fi isnt mPCIe. It has a very small white connector on the bottom of the card. The PM3N looks like it plugs into an actual slot.

The wired lan port is listed as PCI-E.... maybe I can do something with that

Not realistically possible. Better off selling the notebook and getting one with a mPCIe wifi, a expresscard slot or decent onboard discrete graphics.
