I looked around and havent really found comparisons etc...

1- Rank from best to worst looking (imo as the title... PC, PS3, 360)

2- Whats the most fun to play? (my guess console)

3- Which versions have alterations? (such as gameplay and online etc...)

4- Any comparisons? Such as level, details, online, menus etc...

FPS are ALWAYS better on PC, so Orange Box on PC gets the #1 rank by default. XB 360 is 2nd & PS3 3rd, due to frame rate issues on the PS3.

    Here's how you decide:

    1. If you have a computer that can handle it well, buy the PC version.
    2. If you don't, and you have a 360, buy that version.
    3. If you don't, and you have a PS3, buy that version.
    4. If you have all three, go feed an African country.

And Warloque: the OB is great collection of games, esp if you have never played them before.

I have Orange Box on my 360, only so I could get the Achievements. I already had HL2 and Episode 1 on my PC, didn't feel the need to re-buy the PC versions because of that.

It's much better on the 360 than I thought it would be.

So, it'd be PC > 360 > PS3 for me. The 360 wins for the rumble alone.

Well I believe you're in the minority then on most computer forums as this game is very popular. It includes several new games, Episode 2, TF2, and Portal, which are not 4 years old, they just finished them.
Plus Valve actually takes Blizzard's approach and makes a game that will run on almost everyone's machine, not just those who like to spend $1500+ for a gaming computer.

I'm sure what you actually meant to say was two new games, an expansion for one of the most popular PC games ever, and then the first expansion plus the original game thrown in for good measure... For the price of one game.

    Yeah, they're ripping us off.....

Oh wait, the orange box alone has provided me with about as much fun as every other game I've bought this year, combined. Not a bad way to spend $40, is it?

Wow 4 years old... not... TF2 PORTAL and EPISODE2 are all less than 2 months old...

And HL2 and EP1 are amazingly good games...

Unfortunatly I had no option of owning a good computer and PS3... :D so ima PS3 and PC owner...

Any comparison? between all 3 ?!!?? Havent found any...

So people tell me its not good on PS3 because of "lag" which sounds weird to me...

Meh HL - 2 was really.... just ok game. I mean, it isn't something bad but it's not stellar either. And Episode - 2 is like their gonna put some new texturds... To be honest this title doesn't even remoteley interest me, moreso then Quake - 4.

TF2 ok I give you that, that's a new game.

Portal... You can complete single player in like a couple of days and just toss it. Oh since I didn't play does it have like a story line or smth? Or is it just random stuff happening for no reason?

And if you want to compare it to Blizzard, then you have to look how long you have to play to experience all content. Let's see.... HL2+EP2+Portal=under a week. WoW = years...? If u play legitimateley I don't even understand why are you trying to compare MMO with an FPS.

I don't understand why you would come here and disturb the peace. Hey, guess what, no one cares if you don't like the OB or think it's a rip off. We like it, and we bought it with our own money. We don't need you to start a random flame war. These forums have been great about keeping things civil. Don't like the game - start your own thread in OT, don't hijack this one.

IMO in regards to the Orange Box....

    PC>360>PS3

Valve farmed out the PS3 version/port to an unnamed EA team. Every site that cares to comment on the PS3 version states that it has "issues."

unnamed EA team? what do you mean?

Anyone know if the 360 version looks better than the PS3 one? Like all of the games...

ANY benchmarks of them on all 3 ?

Why do people think Portal isnt a good game? Its fun and actually has a story...

The PS3 version wasn't handled by Valve and instead given to a team at EA to port over. Now some say that the framerates in the PS3 version dip a lot, while others say it plays just fine. I still say to buy the one that works for you - aka, don't buy the 360 version if you only have a PS3.

Meaning that Valve originally designed the game for PCs. Valve also handled the 360 version/port. However, Valve doesn't consider the PS3 version worth the time + $$$ to do themselves (google: Gabe, Newell, PS3, interview), so they are having a team (which has nothing to do with Valve or the HL franchise) port the game to PS3. Early reports say that the PS3 version is inferior to the 360 one (which is likewise inferior to the PC)

The PS3 problems aren't "looks", but rather framerate dips (when doing things like turning right/left in EP2)

How do you benchmark console games?

No idea about people's views on Portal, it's my favorite thing in the OB (beat HL2 years ago)

I seen a review of the PC version being compared to the xbox 360 version and they found out that the PC version have sharper picture and more vivid colors that the xbox 360.
They dident test the PS3 version tough.

[The bonus of having the PC version of orange Box it that you can download mods and you dont need to pay for playing it online.

    Steam = Free
    Xbox Live Gold = $$$

Also for cheap CS:S but the Counter Strike anthology pack.
It features CS 1.6, CS Condition Zero and CS:S.

Benchmark console games as in compare graphics... It can be things like water, detail, level, textures... I dont know... I see many people not FULLY/DIRECTLY benchmark PS3 vs 360 they compare it.

How do you actually port a game? And why didnt steam think so? I mean... I think they will have good success with the PS3 OB.

Once you get the OB youll have steam... once you log on to steam after you sign up... you will have EVERYTHING from buying games to playing dfemos to videos, chatting with friends, tools etc...
So then you just go to the shop and buy CS:S... it shouldnt be that expensive at all... STEAM games are ALWAYS cheaper when purchased online.

Why are you commenting on games which you admittedly have not played, and others which you are not interested in?

Say they're not your cup of tea and stop posting. You have nothing to contribute to the thread, other than flamebait.

You've obviously not even played Portal. Portal is more or less a tech demo/game. However, it is one of the most simple, genius games in years given its simplicity. The game takes three to four hours to finish and can be completed in a single sitting.

So I don't know where you're getting the "couple of days" to finish the singleplayer in Portal.

Lost Coast was an awesome game! or tech demo ....

He means the storyline was very short. Not as short as Lost Coast, but it definitely could've been longer. Still an excellent game though. In fact, it's my favorite game so far this year. I thought I'd like TF2 more than I do, as I used to be a huge TFC fan long ago, but I'm left feeling a bit disappointed so far. It just feels like an experience I had many years ago in TFC, but with better graphics and a more "catchy" environment (art style, sounds).

btw, ob runs & looks great on mid range machine. i have it on my sz483 and it looks better than any other games i have on it, including crysis (which stuttered worse than porky pig ...).
