how much GB has titanfall?i read 50gb?thats too much for my slow internet
-
mine is showing 57gb now but thats with all the updates and dlc maps which ive hardly played.
Ethrem likes this. -
Ummm.. I'm grabbing Titanfall, thanks for the heads up!
The download is 52.52GB according to Origin.
EDIT: HOLY CRAP! Comcast is bugged today!
We have the 50 megabit service lol. -
ROFL still no SLI profile yet. FAIL!
-
-
your welcome Ethrrem
im on 54mbps and it certainly helps for downloading games.
and as octiceps said, you might need to turn your sli off as the game still doesnt like dual cards.
the recommended gpu is the 6 year old 8800gtx so a single 880gtx will smash the graphics on this.
another heads up you might have to manually set your 880 to run in nvidia control panel if you have optimus as its one of the games including ghosts that would'nt auto switch to use my 680gtx -
SLI doesn't have Optimus, no worries there.
Eh, per the benchmarks I've seen, you won't be able to maintain 120 FPS maxed out without SLI, which is what you'd want for this kind of game on a 120 Hz screen. -
No... That speed is WAY over what it should be... It should be 6.5MB/s, I've seen it burst to SIXTY
I don't get it this shouldn't be possible. Yet I checked my hard drive and it has written 24GB already... Wow.

That's 'cause it's counting the installation/unpacking files speed (drive I/O) in addition to the Internet download speed. IIRC the GFE driver downloader does this too and people were surprised at how "fast" their Internet was. -
That's 584Mbps... There's no way that my DOCSIS 3 modem is pushing that. Yet that's what its writing to my system. I'm going to be shocked if this game runs -
(52000MB / 6.5MB) / 60 = 133 minutes. -
50+ GB is the size of the game on your drive after it has been installed. It's not actually downloading that much data through Origin, it's downloading the game in a smaller compressed form and unpacking it on the fly as it downloads and counting the speed of the decompression/write together with your actual Internet download speed.
-
think mine only took about 35 minutes to download. from start to pressing play was about 1 hour.
-
Ironically as soon as I brought up speedtest.net, my speed went back down to 6.5MB/s and hasn't budged so I think they are testing our next speed upgrade (we are overdue, should have had it for a month or two now) but yeah, 72MB/s is impossible for 4 channels on DOCSIS 3, it would take 13 channels to achieve that.

If you have a fast CPU, lots of RAM, and SSD, your system can easily decompress and install the game at 10x the speed of your Internet connection. If you've been logging your Internet data usage since the download began, e.g. through Windows 8, you'll see that it's not anywhere near 50GB. This has nothing to do with your Internet connection being over 9000 as your SpeedTest results attest to. You're talking speeds way beyond even what Comcast Business Class offers and into fiber territory.
-
The download just finished and its now decompressing everything now so I don't know what to think. I downloaded it to a mechanical hard drive, not an SSD, and my hard drive indicator was doing the intermittent flashing that a normal download would cause and now it has the solid light. It definitely did not decompress while it was downloading, something glitched. The speed of the download suggests 22MB/sec average which = 176Mbps which is the speed that Comcast's new 150Mbps tier that they've been testing in Denver does have with overprovisioning which is the most likely explanation. -
I'm thinking about buying Titian fall, but I still don't know if it is worth the money.
-
it is a good game but does get a bit monotonous and this is why ive not played for a few months. i did load it last week and tried a couple of the new maps out but of course i couldnt keep up with the hardened players and kept getting killed so got bored easily.
i wish it had a proper single player campaign instead of the (not sure what its called campaign).
heres the discussion thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...cards/743098-titanfall-discussion-thread.html -
Well coming from someone who is a n00b to FPS games like this one, it seems pretty cool but I prefer offline campaigns when I start a new game so I don't make a fool of myself in multiplayer right off the bat and Titanfall has no offline mode and it put me in an Attrition game with level 47-50 players, I got ripped apart. :|
On the plus side, on a single 880M with everything maxed out in the settings, I was averaging 90FPS. -
Yeah but the graphics look like donkey. Dat texture quality.
-
I won't be buying the game, that's for sure. Besides Destiny is launching on the 9th and I won't be doing anything else but playing my PS4 for probably a week after that. lol -
Makes me wonder how in the world Respawn took a time-tested, tried-and-true game engine such as Source and totally broke it with all these glitches, frame buffering issues, and multi-GPU incompatibility.

Its on sale for half off through Origin right now if anyone wants it, there's only 13 1/2 hours left before the sale ends. It's 20 bucks for the regular and 36 for the digital deluxe version.
I won't be buying it though. I already sunk enough cash into broken PC games for now (Watch Dogs)

I'm going back to school, so. I don't have a lot of time to play, but it is one of those games you can get a few games in within an hour.
I'll probably let it pass as I still have tons of other games to play. Thanks steam and humble .
