I read elsewhere that the original retail boxed version of the first Crysis only has a cd check but otherwise no DRM. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I was thinking of picking up a used copy so I can play it at some point in the future.![]()

The other advantage to the retail version is 64-bit support. Steam's is only 32-bit.

That's good to know, but I only use 32-bit windows anyway for compatibility with some of my old games.

Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit is one that will not install/run in 64-bit. Motoracer GP is the same. All need 32-bit. There's a few others that I can't think of off-hand. I have more than 80 PC games, so I don't want to go rifling through my collection so I can remember the others.
I'm surprised though that so many of them work perfectly fine in 64-bit, especially considering they're age, most are from the mid to late 90's and were made for windows 95/98.
Original Crysis - retail version - DRM??
