    Can anyone give my steps by steps to overclock Geforce 8800m GTX SLI in Xps M1730 with Riva tuner or any other software. I dont have any idea in it and am afraid to try it because if I am wrong then it gonna toast my gpu.

    My specs are Core2Dyo T9300 2.4 ghz
    Geforce 8800m gtx sli 1 gb
    4 gb ram 667 mhz
    17" 1920X1200

    Ntune is the only thing that works and of course hardware flashing the clocks. But Ntune works great.

    ntune still doesnt work for me ! :( even if i change the various clock speeds it keeps switching back to default

    How much it is safe to overclock Geforce 8800m gtx?
    And what are the thing that I should keep in mind while doing this?

    you know, i never figured out why ppl would even want to OC their graphics card, especially a card like the 8800m gtx.....
    i know i would never OC my card...because i prefer life/low temps over performance anyday

    Well, plugged in, which is how you should be gaming for the majority of the time, life shouldn't matter. Only thing I would be worried about are the temperatures. It is still strong enough to run most new games on high, if not max, but I guess if you play on a high resolution and you're really hardcore about maxing it out then you might be interested. Overall, it's still a bit early to do so, so do it at your own risk.

    Easiest way to overl**** that I would reccoment would be download this overclocking utility. http://www.evga.com/precision/ Its very simple. Just make sure youre drivers allow overl****ing and then just play with the sliders and find what gives the best results without screen flicker or artifacts. Also, just make sure your heat stays below 90 degrees celsious and you should be fine.

    Yes there is actually quite a difference between stock 500/1250/800 and 625/1550/950 I can say that right away. 625/1550/950 are pretty safe clocks for the 8800m GTX SLI in M1730. I have actually pushed mine up to 640/1550/950 artifact free.

    The clocks going back to default may be because of the drivers you have - with some older Dell drivers that happened. You may want to download and install the latest drivers from laptopvideo2go.com to make sure you have recent drivers (any driver from 169.04 up [possibly 168.xx - can't remember] should allow overclocking; those before won't).

    id never OC a SLI laptop, i didnt pay some 2500$+ for a laptop to break at some day.
