Im thinking about overclocking my video card the default settings are:

    Core Bus: 500
    Memory Bus: 600

I up'ed the Core bus to 550 and the 3DMark06 score went up too 5000 from 4700 no heat problems thus far. I'm not sure what would happen if I started messing around with the Memory Bus.

Anybody know how far I can push this card? or is overclocking it now? and at what settings?

    Thanks

Yeah, I own a Voodoo ENVY U709, and it is based on the same Clevo chassis.
Using RIva Tuner, you can push the graphics card (Quadro FX2500M) from 500MHz core to 565MHz, and the memory from 600MHz to 800MHz. A Mhz higher on either of the clocks causes the graphics card to stop wotking.

I would not recommend overclocking your Quadro. Its a very expensive graphics card, and it costs alot to fix. My Quadro died after just 296 hours of use, only 3 hours of it my graphics card was overclocked. My laptop is back at Voodoo, becuase one of the surface transistors blew, causing my graphics card to die. I doubt it was from Overclocking, because it worked flawlessly at clock speeds for like 250 hours after I overclocked it.

Luckily I have a 3yr platinum upgrade and warranty, so my new graphics card costs me nothing. The Quadro alone costs just over $1000, so I wouldnt screw around with it. I asked the Voodoo tech team, and it cost $1360 for a new Quadro and to install it. I dont know how much alienware charges, but dont screw around its not worth it. It is going to take 6 weeks for Voodoo to get me a new graphics card.

    Thanks for the advice.

I think Ill just leave the Core bus at 550, and thats it.
I plan on buying a 8800M when they come out.
The drivers for the Quadro FX2500M raelly suck.

You realize you can simply install GeForce drivers and your system will see whatever card your Quadro is based on? ;)

And don't ever, ever plan on upgrading the GPU in a laptop. I know it's possible in the D900K but you're probably not going to see any more compatible upgrades for that model since it has been discontinued for some time.

Most Geforce Drivers dont work or cause display problems.

If it's a video card upgrade, there should be no problems.

On my Voodoo, I downloaded the latest drivers for my Quadro FX2500M, from laptopvideo2go. They are version 94.22.
If you want to control the graphics card, use Riva Tuner, its a great program.

Thanks, I believe Im using the lastest laptopvideo2go drivers now, they work great.

I used Nvidia nTune to overclock..works good, I will check out Riva Tuner, I believe I have used it before also.
